I can really hear Robert doing a very casual version of The Ballad of John and Yoko...and for that matter, All I want! |

In his notes he says it is to be compiled on a Sony C60 tape and listened to while driving in a northerly direction. |

Robert's so funny. I wonder if it would work for us up in these latitudes to play it while driving in a southerly direction. I suppose not. We're just out of luck! |

I'm the opposite of crazy about that Bill Callahan record. But I did note that track as having a great title. |

Hi Padraig, Is the full article online? It sounds like his notes about his selection would be fun to read. Thanks, |

Hi Austin. The article also featured several other people's 2009 mix tapes. It was written by someone else, but mostly just featured graphics of tapes with the respective track lists. Robert's entire note reads: "Here is my 10-song mix tape list. Preferably on an old Sony tape with 30 minutes a side, to be listened to as you drive in a northerly direction." |

Ah yes, the days of listening to a old Sony tape with 30 minutes a side, to be listened to as you drive in a northerly direction! I mainly used 90 minute ones though. I remember most fondly a REM-Murur, Let's Active-afoot and Bangles-All Over The Place one that I used to play to death while driving north to visit friends. |
