Does anyone love the Sundays as much as me? I have only recently started listening to them. I have all 3 of their albums in my car along with Grant's IYBR. I could listen to Harriet Wheeler all day long, such a beautiful voice! Goes so well with David Gavurin's Smiths' influenced atmospheric guitars.

Beno,

Yes I've been a fan since there first album as I was at university and Here's where the Story Ends was the US single on MTV. The album that really still moves me in Blind. I recently puller it out and have been using it to wake to on my new cd alarm clock.

I haven't gotten into the third record so much. It's almost too mellow, save the single summertime.

I wonder what ever happened to them. I always wondered how they made a living with about 4-5 years between records and very short tours of only a few weeks. Perhaps they inherited their wealth or had other jobs. I know Harriet and David had at least one child.

+ 1. Happy that I'm not alone to cherish this band..

I really liked their three records and I've seen them twice (I even spoke with Harriett after their concert in Brussels !). Excellent ! This music is still very listenable in 2005.

Don't know what happened to them. Strange.

Wow you are a lucky man to speak to Harriet! What was she like in person?

Any other bands you'd recommend to a Go-Betweens and Sundays fan? Always nice to discover great music

I put the Sundays in my top 5 !

Harriet was very kind, we spoke about her nice and fragile voice.I showed her the pictures I made of her during their concert in Koln. She was upset that I shoot only her and not the entire band. She didn't wanted to be on the front. We spoke also birdwatching (my hobby). I was happy that one track on 'Static' had birdsongs on it. Perhaps she remembered me...:-) At least it's what I say to my friends!

Reading Writing & Arithmetic is a stunning record, simple melodies and odd lyrics, great hooks. Hideous Towns is a regular on my various playlists.
I think the first LP overshadowed the other 2 albums, as a result, they didn't get as many plays, something to go back to and rediscover.
David & Harriet were always set on taking their time and weren't bothered by the possibility of losing fans with such long gaps between records.
Jeff Buckley's "Grace" reminded me of them, but there's not much chance of that album being new to anyone.

Jerry you're comments go along with the reviews on www.allmusic.com where they rated RW&A 4.5/5 and Blind and S&S both 3/5.

TROU is Harriet small?
