Spicks & Specks ABC TV (Australia) 8:30pm Wednesday, November 16, 2005 "It's the final episode of Spicks & Specks for 2005. For one last time, two music teams will do battle to see who really are the champions of rock and roll. Join Adam Hills for a romp through the hills of music, where the trivia is very much alive on Spicks & Specks, Wednesday 16 November at 8.30pm. Special guests this week include The Go-Betweens' Robert Forster and comedian Dave O'Neil, who team up with Alan Brough, while singer Sharon O'Neill and funnyman Colin Lane side with Myf Warhurst. And will Colin manage to stay on the bike this time during Malvern Stars on 45s? The heat is on as each team seeks to out play the other through the various rounds. Substitutes seems to catch everyone out, although it does encourage Colin to reveal his ultimate plan. Sharon spills the beans on the day she met Michael Jackson and Dave O'Neil gets a grand idea. Finally, Adam unveils a Spicks & Specks treat for everyone to enjoy." |

I will be at Olympic Stadium watching Australia hammer Uruguay to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1974. Ireland have not made it this time but I feel strongly that my other nation will. I've booked the next day off work in order to recover from the celebrations on the night! Might try to figure out the video to record Spicks and Specs though. |

Unfortunately, I have to report that Robert didn't get the chance to sing on the "Substitute" section of the show. A shame as I was going to post an mp3 for y'all, too. As the wit was flying thick and fast between Colin "Col" Lane and Dave O'Neil, Robert was uncharacteristically retiscent. So no great quips to report, but he was pretty much on the money with his pop trivia, which was the point of the exercise anyway. Oh, and yes his team won.. |
