Thanks, Spence, and may I say, you're one of my favorite people for saying that, at the risk of sounding like the smarmy Yank I am... I've been meaning to ax you about your Blue Aeroplanes connections...I have shitloads of discs by them, for awhile was buying every one that came out, which as you can imagine, added up to a significant number...so, what is their status now? and what is your role - percussion, etc? Whatever happened to that dude that was, for lack of a better phrase, the "featured dancer"? Interesting innovation...the BA's and the Happy Mondays are the only groups I can think of who ever featured such... |

hi hardin, well they still going! they are alive and well. they have new album altitude out now, its very good, they are on tour, i was supposed to play in birmingham with them but came down with a virus, but in general terms they are ptretty much the same ol ba's! gerard still at the helm, load of guitarists, gutarists are us! my relation with them was that i supported them in a band i was in years ago, we played with them some in 1988 then just after their famous rem tour (when there were about 50 guitars on stage all of rem etc playin breakin in my heart), then we played with them on their swaghger tour and been pals ever since. john the original amazing drummer is back on skins and he is helping me along on recording a new album with another aeroplane caroline trettine in my project as the winnebago orchestera (just signed to tuition in germany, cd out may 06, roddy frame has an album oput on same label too). that's about it. oh, wochjetk is still dancing, the fittest man alive!!! not as good a dancer as ian curtis tghough, or who ever tina turner sowned up to being hers! |

cheers spence, your cheques in the post! as the boards resident BAs guru perhaps you can answer this one? was it the "Green" tour that they supported REM? I saw the show in Edinburgh and think BAs may have been support, but whats left of my frazzled memory cannot be sure. Heady times |

yeah no worries jerry will do. kev, yep the green tour. i reflect upon green as a great album now, at the time i wasn't sure, but doument changed everything just before it i guess. i watched an old vid yesterday of rem, filmed in 1994/5, it was a docu thing, south bank show i think, what was really funny was the tour rehearels, they couldn't remember some of the lyrics to the the older songs so they had to get copies of the rem songbook, and there's stipe reading from it, very funny that... |
