I mentioned Madness in a post just and it got me thinking of The house of Fun 7'' picture disc, it was so great that pic disc, in the days of pic discs, it featured the band lookin they're usual wacky selves and what's more it excited me at the mere thought of placing it on the deck of the radio gram! So, I wondered what kind of pic disc, promo, thing, signed record etc that used to light all you guys' fires, past or present, u know like PILs metal box in tin form etc etc I would add to Madness, my Orange Juice Rip it up 2 x 7'' with poster, my Postcard collection...a signed white label with a personalised letter to myself from Momus of his first ever single on el records. |

Slayer's "Live Undead" picture disc comes to mind. But then so does the nifty promo box for "Streets of Your Town," w/ the pin, map, photo, 7", etc... I still kind of want that CD single for the same song that was packaged to look like a stop light. |

PIL's "Metal Box" obviously, The Wailers' "Catch A Fire" cigarette lighter, Radiohead's "Amnesiac" library book, Hawkwind's fold out "Space Ritual" sleeve and anything by Sudden Sway. I had an early Big Country picture disc single in the shape of Scotland which always made me smile. Also I once had a signed copy of the Only Ones' first album where Peter Perrett had scrawled his signature up the inside of his forearm on the picture of himself on the inner sleeve - sad junkie chic, don'tcha just love it... |
