I flipped through the book and the only reason why I didn't part with it was the $60au price tag on the back cover! It's got a couple of nice pages on The Go-Betweens and the cover-art reproductions look better than the actual Rough Trade releases! A lot of my favourite bands from Metal Urbain to Belle & Sebastian are on that label and the book really does Geoff Travis's label justice. I was amazed to see band shots of the Red Crayola with Gina Birch, Epic Soundtacks and Lora Logic in the line-up - great stuff. Speaking of books, does anyone know when Bleddyn Butcher's bio on David McComb coming out? |

I first heard about the Bleddyn Butcher book not long after David McComb died in February 1999. I can only assume Butcher is finding it hard to get a publisher. |

its not Rough Trade but there's some great podcasts on the Cherry Red records website of interviews with Ian and Mike from Cheer Red and el Records and one with Alan Mcgee too, great stuff! |
