Written by Grant, starring Robert Vickers, this is a fascinating Go-Betweens artifact.

Wow, Allan. That was incredibly fun. Thank you for posting the link (and posting the film if it was you who did it).

I wish Grant had been able to explore his screenwriter interest further.

I didn't post it, merely found it on YT today.

I just watched it again and love it so much. there are some beautiful lines in there, very Grant.

Mr. Vickers looks fantastic too (as always).

I think i'm going to start a go-betweens on Youtube thread. I found an amazing clip of the band doing "cut it out" live today

Wow, what a find. Hitchcock meets film noir meets Wake In Fright.

I met Robert Vickers a few months ago after he played with Robert in Brisbane. He has barely aged in 28 years. He must have some picture of Dorian Gray in his attic. He's a lovely man, as well as being good looking.

Robert Forster and Grant wrote a film script in the mid-90s. It was about a guy arriving in Sydney from Brisbane.

Hitchcock definitely, with a dash or two of early David Lynch in the imagery and themes.

Check out Wake In Fright if you can Allen. Best Australian film ever made.

Padraig, I've definitely heard of it, due to the big reissue on video last year, and it sounds very good. I do think I'll have to wait for the right mood to hit me, though, as I'm parcelling out my diet of dark and brutal stuff a little more sparingly these days.

'Robert Forster and Grant wrote a film script in the mid-90s. It was about a guy arriving in Sydney from Brisbane.'

Any more info on that item? Last I read, in Rolling Stone about a million years ago, is that Robert showed it to somebody he knew in the film industry and it was destined to never see the light of day again..

I did ask Robert about it one time Paul. I can't remember what the answer was though. I'll dig out the tape one day...
