Wow, yet another sad loss. I discovered some of John Barry's work several years ago while in the midst of a Morricone binge. He wrote some truly beautiful music. I remember reading that Magazine wanted him to produce one of their albums, and there were talks, but it didn't happen because Barry wanted them to come to LA and Virgin wouldn't foot the bill for that, or something along those lines. Would've been an interesting pairing.

I've been a huge Barry fan since the early 90s. A great loss.

Little known fact, his father was an Irishman who moved to England and owned a chain of cinemas and music halls.
