The complete Seinfeld - which I missed completely when it came out on TV, and as a rather long-drawn out prelude to catching up with Curb your Enthusiasm. Hard to recapture the freshness it must have had when first broadcast, but still loads of fun, especially when following the basic premise of four people sitting around talking about the "excruciating minutiae of everyday life" as Elaine calls it; less so when moving into Krameresque farce, pasta figurines ending up in rear ends etc.

Went to two movies today to use up some vouchers before they reach their use by date. Saw The Adjustment Bureau and The Lincoln Lawyer. Neither film was brilliant, though the former is certainly the best of the two.

Yes, Soup Nazi is excellent, strangely, another episode called just "The Soup" is also very fine.The simpler the idea, the better the episode, it seems. The boxed set is very nicely done, with its very own coffee table book, and lots of interesting extras. The mechanics of producing a top-notch half-hour comedy series are fascinating.

Been watching The Sopranos. Just about to finish series 4. It's the weakest series so far. Which is how I remembered it from the first time around.

"The Contest" amazed my Italian wife: she said it would be difficult for the TV here to show it now, never mind 20 years ago...

@skulldisco.

I saw this a few months back. It was really good. It seems a second part is being filmed at the moment.

Good, isn't it Padraig? Great to see how much drama can be drawn out of just fine dialogue and wonderful acting.
