essential music books according to pitchfork http://pitchfork.com/features/staff-list s/7967-words-and-music-our-60-favorite-m usic-books/ i only have a handful, the three simon reynolds books, "chronicles" (dylan), and "bass culture, when reggae was king" the neil young book looks like it should be interesting, and any book called "how the beatles destroyed rock 'n' roll" gets the thumbs up from me. |

Interesting list. I have nine of the 60. Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung is by far the best of those I have. Honourable mention to Fargo Rock City and Love Is A Mixtape. I started This Is Your Brain On Music... Must try again sometime. |

I'm surprised Fredric Dannen's Hit Men: Power Brokers and Fast Money Inside the Music Business didn't make the list though. It's a classic. |
