Very sad news. Yesterday evening Jackie died after having cancer. A good friend and wonderful musician and storyteller has gone. No more looking forward to his wonderful concerts. Bye, Jackie, good old friend! You gave me so much! All the best to Deb!! A tear passes the eye. | ||

Sad news. I'm not really familiar with his work, but Doll By Doll always seemed to be on the periphery of things during the 80's (I think?), they seemed to have a healthy cult following. Must try and hear something. | ||

His performances were outstanding. My 75 & 77 year old parents have gone to his concerts lately. They didn't understand a word, but the way he performed was outstanding and they loved it. I have seen him more often than the Go-Bees incl their solo concerts - and I have seen them ofen!! Two records I would buy first: - For Peace Comes Dropping Slow (an idea of his live concerts but with less than usual of his witty, dirty stories ;) - Forbidden Songs of the Dying West - early studio album seeing him live was different!! Very sad to hear this. I only have one of his albums, but it's great. I picked it (Defending Ancient Springs) up in a bargain bin years ago. | ||
