Not my favourite Go-Betweens song by a long way but Vetiver have been playing it on their current tour. They also did a faithful version on Marc Riley's show on BBC6Music last night. It's about 55 minutes into the programme. |

Maybe too poppy and the lyrics are nothing to write home about. Still it was a monor hit and got some video play as well. Since it came late to the 16LL sessions, I wonder what Grant song it replaced? |

I went to see Vetiver the other night for the first time in Oakland...really like their albums. I didn't see that "Streets" cover coming--wow. They did it about 4 songs in. It was very faithful to the original. I like Vetiver even more now. |

I think Grant would rate Streets Of Your Town as one of his best songs. For good reason. And yes, Vetiver is a good band, I love Tight Knit from 2009. On Youtube you find some videos from their SOYT version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l--A6zn72 _U&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XcgK8hJy Vo&feature=related And maybe you like Love Goes On by Nada Surf. For me it's a bit too heavy but always worth listening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2TuK7eQE 24&feature=related |

I don't think I've ever heard a cover that I liked of a Go-Betweens song, this one included. But I love Streets of Your Town. It's sublimely poppy and the lyrics and the stinging irony of the lyrics are wonderful. |

Now listening to GB3 (featuring Angie Hart) cover Devil's Eye. It's a good, but not great, cover. |

In keeping with the other two posts I've just made, I'm now listening to Ivy's version of Streets Of Your Town. |
