I used to enjoy Ian McCulloch's interviews back in the day, I remember he made the front cover of The Evening Press in Ireland in the 80s for saying that U2 made music for plumbers and bricklayers and that Bono looked like a mountain goat, must have been a very slow news day! Some v obvious choices in this baker's dozen (most obvious being Ocean rain!) but some funny moments in there as he recreates Ronson & Bowie in the studio the first time Lou pitches them "Perfect Day": http://thequietus.com/articles/11721-ian -mcculloch-echo-and-the-bunnymen-favouri te-albums |

McCulloch's talent has never matched his ego. He is very talented, no doubt, but with an arrogance which has never dimmed. And he's utterly wrong about the Bowie album (apart from mentioning Tin Machine, which is accurate on a couple of songs - but I love the first Tin machine album and like the second a lot). |
