For those of you in or around San Francisco, I'm going to be participating in a Grant McLennan tribute show at the Hemlock this Wednesday (6/7). The lineup consists of members of Still Flyin' and Architecture in Helsinki. We'll be playing fifteen of Grant's songs. http://hemlocktavern.com/prog_guide.php? |

SA, have a great show. We will all be with you in spirit! Do you think that Robert will organize a tribute show for Grant with past and present G-B's? |

Michael, a show like that would be a dream for fans, wouldn't it? Is it selfish of us to wish for something like that? |

Who knows the the current dynamics/relationships. But a show with the different formats of the band playing their music from each era.May be Robert Vickers would provide the second guitar through out or a "guest guitarist" could cover Grants parts.Or may be Spence might like to step in,that would be egalitarian. |

Kurt, I don't think it would be selfish. It might have a lot of healing benefits for everyone envolved with the project as well as afirming that Grant's spirit lives on. Hard to say if Robert is thinking the same way though. It should be something that Robert would initate though. Wouldn't it be great if someone like Neil Finn could join in on it? |

If Robert, Adele, and Glenn were up for it, it would be a lovely tribute to Grant, wouldn't it? It would be very moving to hear Robert sing his favorite songs of Grant's, perhaps with guests singing some others--as you say, maybe Neil Finn, Steve Kilbey, Paul Kelly, etc. Guest appearances by various ex-GoBs would a nice touch too. (If I may fantasize, how about Robert singing "Hammer the Hammer" with Lindy on drums?) |
