See link below for list of Mercury Awards nominees http://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/music/news/article1185366.ece Thom Yorke or Hot Chip are both contenders for my album of the year, so that means they probably have no chance of winning if you were thinking about a bet |

Jerry, I think I have stated elsewhere on the board that I am not the biggest Radiohead fan, apart from Kid A. If you like that album you will like this I reckon |

Don't worry about the faults andreas - I certainly understand you fine. I love that Scritti album as well. |

The Mercury Prize awards take place this evening, live on BBC4 at 9pm. I have a strong feeling that Richard Hawley could win this, not my cup of tea really. My own top 3 would be: 1: Hot Chip - The Warning. 2: Thom Yorke - The Erazer 3: Scritti Politti - White Bread Black Beer The judges for this award always like to lob in a grenade so dont be surprised if Guillemots or Sway wins it. |

Richard Hawley is a fuck*n genius as far as I am concerned, a modern day 'classic' singer and musician in all definitions of the word. Also, he's one helluva nice guy. Dito for Green, I am with you there, only heard a few but loved em. He's a great guy too, much respec for the Greenmeister!!!!!!!! |

So, Arctic Monkey won it. Thought that was too obvious myself. The singer cracked a nice joke when collecting the award. "Someone call 999, Richard Hawleys just been robbed" |
