Who would play him? Marky Mark of & The Funky Bunch fame? Which Go-Betweens songs would be on the soundtrack? Obviously just songs from the albums that Lindy played on as Marky is our conduit to her.

For a soundtrack, how about:

1 Man O'Sand To Girl O'Sea
2 Arrow In A Bow
3 Unkind And Unwise
4 The Clowns Are In Town
5 Careless
6 Head Full Of Steam
7 I Just Get Caught Out
8 Bye Bye Pride
9 Was There Anything I Could Do?
10 The Wrong Road
11 A King In Mirrors

Skippy, you are jumping the gun.

Mark and I have yet to discuss a script for this movie.

But these are an interesting selecton of songs for the sound track.

But you have omitted Too much of one thing, a Mark favourite.

Oh, Skippy, you know Mark doesn't like to refer to it as a conduit. Its a "normal friendship", so its better that we use his words.

Remember going through the portal is very difficult...

Yes Malcovich, by Too Much does not feature Lindy on drums and therefore would be ineligible surely? When can we expect a first draft? The Australian film industry is in the doldrums, this could be just the fillip it needs!

Yes, a "normal friendship". I can hear the ad voiceover now: "It was a normal friendship between a rock drummer and a man with too much access to the world wide web ... and then something happened to change his world forever".

Who's writing this script, you or me? I mean me and Mark.

I would be going for less of a 'Hollywood' treatment than you are giving it. Like the Go-Betweens, this will be a thinking man/woman's film - controversial, sad, brutal but ultimately a triumphant assertion of the human spirit.

Anyway, its going to have to be a grainy independent release since we will have to raise the capital from the people here in this chatroom.

But controversial independents can do well. Look at Fahrenheit 9/11.

But we should wait until Mark comes out of the portal. He has final say.

Will this be a kind of Triumph of the Will but set in St. James, Victoria?

Go away, Anonymous.
It will be nothing like Triumph of the Will. We couldn't afford the uniforms on our budget anyway.

Gritty, independent Australian realism then? I like it. No pat Hollywood endings.

Well, yes but since its an Aussie movie there maybe one or two Abba songs thrown in to lighten the mood. Maybe

The Winner Takes It All or I Have a Dream

Ok, thank you for your input. However, I don't really think your last suggestion is appropriate, anonymous.
I will post a simple plot 'treatment' when I hear from Mark. I think he may still be in the portal.

skippy and bingo, do you live together?

I have a suggestion about who should play Mark in this film...Carson Cressley with a (bad) personality transplant. I just know he would get the subtle inflexions of Mark's way of expressing himself.
I know this suggestion would be deeply offensive to Carson, but hey, there's just something so right about it too, doncha think?

Who is Carson Cressley, Blinky Bill.

Hey, another Australian TV icon is contributing to the poll! I always thought Blinky Bill was a bit lame though, I have to say.

OMG you mean you don't know? it's my fault i spelt his name wrong. It's Kressley.
He's one of the fab five!.
I can't help it, but when i read all Mark's Erudite, Witty, Meaningful, Coherent, Intelligent, Informative,( Through-the-Portal-to Lindy's Head No Less), Humble, Scintillating messages and the way they are inflected by his refined and oh-so-deeply-Expressive-and-Sensitive use of
bold, italics, and capitals
for some strange reason I hear Him speaking in the voice of Carson Kressley, top-ranked US equestrian and Prime Time jooger.....why is that I wonder.
Carson's a very busy man these days but I really do think you should get Mark's people and Your people to talk to Carson's people.

Yes, I thought that was not the Irish Catherine there. Maybe it's Marky Mark in disguise. He has remained curiously aloof from this thread. Possibly too busy fighting, and starting, fires elsewhere.
