The best perk of my job (besides all the office supplies I can smuggle out) is the week off we get between Christmas and New Years. Whoo-hoo, 10 days off from work after Friday!

Hm...no long break for me
I will have to work three days next week but for the first time 15 years or so I don't have to work on New Year's Day. The family is delighted...

And as this is my last day on the board this week, I'd like to wish everyone here Merry Christmas. Hope you all enjoy the turkey or whatever else, lots of beer or wine, and - most important? - your favourite music....

I talked to a Scottish friend last night who's taking his family home for the holidays. He's flying into Heathrow, but all flights to Scotland are cancelled so he has to drive after his seven-hour flight - another 400 miles. Worst of all, they're returning to Chicago on the 29th! At least, no matter how tough Padraig's trip to Ireland is, he's taking enough time off to make it worth it. Good luck, nonetheless!

Oh well it had to end sometime. First day(well night if we are being accurate)back at work for 2 whole weeks and its a graveyard shift - just as well I have had loads of good albums to listen to.
So far

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
Low - Drums and Guns (cant believe Dave Fridmann produced this, its so stripped down, not like his usual "everything but the kitchen sink" approach http://www.subpop.com/scripts/main/disco graphy.php?cat=true&display_type=discog_ single&title=Drums%20and%20Guns)
Jarvis - Jarvis
Oakley Halls - Second Guessing
Field Music - Tones In Town
Fujiya and Miyagi - Transparent Things
The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
Yabby You - Deliver Me From My Enemies.

Still got an hour or so to go, so time for one of the discs from Orphans - then its off for some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzs
