Spence re your number 18. ...... having a three star review of an album my group released feature in The Sun, a ruly awful newspaper read by the masses. That was fiunny.......

Incredibly, The Sun's music coverage on a Friday is pretty good (I see it at work honest, I dont buy it), they definately sway towards the stuff that we tend to like on this board -eg Indie
This week for example there was a full page devoted to the new Shins album, and also a top 10 best albums released on Sub Pop. The other week they listed their top 100 albums of the year, I had a fairly large amount of the albums listed.
To counter this, what I have just typed above would have been unthinkable for more years than I care to remember - it would have been wall to wall Phil Collins, Elton John, Sting....... etc

Kev, brilliant my man! 1000 posts, truly inspirational answer. That should be the title of your abum!

Yes I was amazed how decent the Sun's pull out entertainment thing was. Its the only copy(s) I have bought in years.

They got that right its just the rest of it. Musat admit these days, I find most papers much of a muchness. I'm pretty sick of news, news news too. We get far too much of it, or far too little of it in many cases too.

On the subject of the review, it was absurd we got reviewed in The Sun, I mean, we're unknown for Chrissake!

Must check play.com out too.

Elizabeth, are you atthe early stage of guitar? If so, Bert Weedon has a wonerful DVD out, Play in a day was his book.

My dear Spence - thank you for the tip about guitar. I shall have to look that up!

Right now I am using the Hal Leonard self-study course (he has a primer on rock techniques to go with the introductory books.) and am getting used to barre chords.

How do people post guitar tabs here so that they look intelligible for others to read? I want to do more one of these days than just to say that a tiny bit of 'As Long as That' can be played with elementary E and Em based barres on Gm -Cm - Bb - Db.
