I hope the godawful prog-rock organ from "The Crane Wife" is among the instruments:

Quite generous of them, particularly when you consider that all of their instruments were stolen before their last tour, as I recall.

I dunno if anyone saw that episode of the Colbert Report, where they had their shred-off with Stephen. Funny funny stuff.

Kurt, I bet you're a fan of that keyboard instrument that "musicians" could play like a guitar. Remember those? You strapped 'em over your shoulder, just like a geetar. I think that schlemiel, can't remember his name, but he did "Dreamweaver", played one....

Hey, Donald Fagen still plays one of those awful things onstage! (Totally justifying the hatred many have for him and Steely Dan.) Why can't keyboardists be content to sit at their instrument with dignity? By the way, those strap-on keyboards only work right if the player is wearing a mullet and an '80s-style half-sleeve jacket.

I was trying to watch the Colbert Report shred-off on the Comedy Central website, but my internet connection wasn't up to it. I'm sure it's on YouTube; I should have a look.

That's the fundamental flaw in the logic of the horribly cheesy keyb-guitar, isn't it? It's just really tough to play keyboards and be a badass rock n roller. I think Jerry Lee Lewis is the only one who's ever pulled that off...

I suppose it's a "the grass is always greener" thing, but I've always been jealous that the guys on keybs get to sit down. New Year's Eve my band played from 10 pm 'til 1:30 am, and I spent the entire time with a hefty Telecaster weighing me down. By about 11:30, I was a sweaty mess but our piano player was fresh as daisy. My point being, those keyb-guitar things aren't only cheesy, they piss off bandmates who HAVE to stand the whole show.

They sound like Green Day to me.
Hide their instruments!
