Pitchfork gives the new CD by Panda Bear, "Person Pitch" a "9.2". Well, they're outta their f-ing minds, because it's horrible. It sounds like the Beach Boys (and not the good Beach Boys at their prime, but rather the current, bloated, fat ones, without Brian Wilson), ate a lot of 'ludes, washed them down with cough syrup, then tried to perform a selection of Gregorian chants in the back of a garbage truck. That actually makes it sound more charming than it is, but you get my drift... |

I believe it. They always way overreact to poor-to-mediocre new acts that recycle crappy '70s-type sounds that I guess are new to the uber-hip Pitchfork reviewers. That's why if Dan Fogelberg made a new album under a hip-sounding alias (preferably with an animal in the name, like Panda Bear, Pedro the Lion, etc.), Pitchfork would give it at least an 8.0. |

....although I dont like Deerhof, Bjork, The Books,Boris, Joanna Newsome or loads of other cack they try to ram down our throats. sometimes they get it spot on, sometimes they are well wide of the mark Wonder what they will make of Good Shoes? Just listening to their album which is like a car crash involving The Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines and The Buzzcocks. |

Ah well, we've finally reversed roles... What can I say, man? I just don't get it... What seems least forgiveable is the horrible low fidelity. Did I get a defective copy, or does yours sound as though it was recorded in a shower stall with rusty mics? |

Mine sounds fine LK, although lets face it, its not supposed to sound like it was recorded in a $10,000 a day LA studio |
