This is footage of Karl Rove (scroll down a little bit)busting out some hip hop moves at the White House Correspondent's dinner. Rove, for those of you who don't follow the sad vagaries of American politics, is Bush's principal, but unprincipled, main advisor. He is a singularly evil scumbag - up there with Goebbels, Goering and Ann Coulter. Warning: don't watch this before you eat. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/03/29 /mc-rove-raps-at-dc-dinn_n_44504.html |

He's so nervous to start with, then busts loose, really badly. |

If this was supposed to have a humanizing effect on ol' Karl, mission unaccomplished. Nas is right. Hip-hop is dead. |

I wondered, too, Rob, at the motivation for such a spectacle. Rove doesn't do anything without political motivation - I bet he can't say "good morning" without consulting a poll, so there had to some advantage to be gained, and I think that's it, to make him look more human, which he, at this point, desperately needs. But I think it backfired. We Americans like our leaders to be human, but we also like them to be winners, to have a little "game", if you will. Karl conclusively proves he has none - if there was ever a more consummate portrayal of an out of touch, stiff, rich white guy, I don't know what it was. There was, too, a subtle hint of minstrelsy in the whole thing...sad... It's analogous to hearing the story about Hitler crying over his pet canary dying...it's really just kind of pathetic. It didn't change how evil he was and really just threw that evil into sharper relief. |

And how 'bout that Kyle Sampson dude, LK? Did you see the picture? He looks like Rove's Mini Me, yet even more pathetic. Is there some neo-con camp where they raise these guys on crumb cake, Ayn Rand and Men's Warehouse? I mean, I was a geek in school and even I would've had a hard time not taking a shot at this guy. |
