seems like ages since the re-jigged "Born Sandy Devotional" came out. I'm really hoping for the "Raning Pleasure" + "Sea Of Glass" EPs to be combined on one disc sometime soon. Any ideas how/where this project is going? (I'm not a fan of album releases being trickled out over a long period of time. I'd rather the whole bck catalogue just got done at one time.) |

Found this here http://thetriffids.com/sitefiles/news.sh tml Limited edition singles re-issue... Did the mastering last week for a special, limited edition box set of the first five singles and EPs. After a couple of abortive attempts to work from vinyl we managed to find decent masters of all five first singles/EPs and they sound great. I mastered them with Simon Polinski who did the ITP master. We had one or two problems with dropouts but we're working with very old tape and that's to be expected. We were able to get good masters of all tracks and they should be in production next week. Plenty of photos from that era have been cropping up (no pun intended). So we're talking Stand Up/Farmers Never Visit Nightclubs Spanish Blue/Twisted Brain Reverie EP Bad Timing And Other Stories Beautiful Waste/Property Is Condemned With original art work as far as is possible. Theoretically they'll sound very like the originals, a good bit clearer as we've been able to get masters of high quality. More details on art work as it comes to hand. I can say after listening to these songs many, many times in the past few weeks, they're an amazing collection of songs for a band to have released before their first album, especially when you consider all the other stuff that was released as well on cassette, and the fact that none of these songs appears on the debut album. This is a Domino only release. There won't be an official Aus release of this set. The songs will be made available for free download for those who buy the box. Exact release date yet to be decided. Keep your eye on the Domino site for more news on this. Graham Lee |

This is exciting. I'll buy it but please, please put it out on CD. My turntable is in pretty iffy shape. |
