I'm sure unless you are hungover today you will have noticed that today is 7th July 2007 - 7/7/7. Read an article in the paper today that says this makes today a lucky day, given that man historically has made 7 an important number - "the number 7 runs throughout world mythology, magic and religion and symbolises completeness and perfection". Just think LK, if your favourite buddy Dubya had been born a day or so later today would have been his birthday - scary!! Some 7s I have come up with - 7 seas,7th heaven,7 virtues,7 wonders of the world,7 colours of the rainbow,7 days of creation. So, I hope everybody is lucky today. Me? I'm at work, so not so lucky eh? Now,where are those lottery tickets? |

Maybe he wouldn't have been such a screwup and a dunce! I am thankful for at least this: Papa John's (big pizza chain here that makes surprisingly edible pies) has single topping pizzas for $7.77 today, so it is lucky in that way! Btw, I've read that they have fried pizza in Scotland. Is that true? |

ps - Meant to mention that a lot of blues songs talk about the position of being the "seventh son of a seventh son" as being a particularly powerful one, full of mojo and juju and all that good stuff... |

Think how my girlfriend feels...it's her birthday today. And kevin, she did go out and get 7 lottery tickets at 7 a.m. with 7 one dollar bills. |

Allen, I trust her numbers were 7,17,27,37,47 and 34 thats numbers that could be permutated in the UK anyway - we only go from 1-49, therefore I proposed 34 (3+4=7) |

Just read a review of the 30th anniversary release of Culture's album Two Sevens Clash in Mojo. Apparently Jamaicas streets were empty on the day when the 4 sevens clashed that year (7/7/77), some teachings predicted the world would end that day. Could be urban myth of course. |

One of the seven colours, Indigo, was just included so that the number of colours would be "Holy" and not the "demonic" 6. Indigo is the only tertiary colour of those 7 colours - the rest are Pimary or Secondary. This is a sore spot with me as I try and rid kids minds of religious rubbish. |

Kevin, Seven Chinese Brothers comes to mind. My grandfather passed away on the day when the 4 sevens clashed that year (7/7/77). A tornado also ripped through a trailer park around the same time, I remember looking at the remains of it on the way to the funeral. |

That's a great, cinematic description Michael. I pictured it in my mind as I was reading it. |
