Given that Kate hates to fly as much as Gene Clark and Gram Parsons did, the above is something I though I would never see! I can't wait to see her live! |

Andreas, I have mentioned Kate before, but not recently. Her 2003 album "Underneath The Stars" is a great starting point, and probably my favorite album from 2003. Her "Live at Leeds" DVD with her band is even better! I think she is as good if not better than Sandy Denny or Linda Thompson. All it took was listening to the song 'Polly' on the radio three years ago and I was hooked. |

I went to her gog in Manchester a few years ago ( my wife is a big fan). We arrived at 7:40 pm ( ticket said 7:30pm)we thought it would be the usual get a drink see the support band etc but no they start promptly, and had to push passed a few very sincere and grumpy looking people, almost that we had no respect and turned up late. The concert was very good she has a lovely voice and her band are excellent, quite traditional folky in a way that I thought didn't exist anymore. If she had put on an electric guitar and "plugged in a la Dylan in 65" you would have heard more than the shout of Judas ring out. All her CDs are worth getting but underneath the stars is a great starting point. |
