I'm sure someone mentioned them on here before. going to see them tonight in London - anyone else going? listened to Red Letter Day last night sounded really good and they were always great live.

The new albums great C Gull, much better than I dared hope. Although obviously age has mellowed them a bit, they still havent went REM style bland yet.

How was the gig C Gull? Im playing the album once a day for the last week or so now. Theres a good balance between fast Replacement style rockers and slower type songs which have their own hallmark.
Janovitz solo stuff was pretty mediocre and I know bands break up for all different types of reasons, but some bands are just meant to play together and BT are one of them.

It was good Kevin. I saw the band in the pub beforehand and it was like bumoing into some old friends who you have n't seen for 15 years or so. Unlike most of the reforming bands they looked incredibly fit and healthy - in fact I was n't really sure it was them at first as they looked so young - if only I could say the same!

Anyway they played about two hours belted out Sodajerk and Treehouse early on and sounded tremendous. Played most of Big Red Letter Day and Let Me Come Over plus bits of the other albums. I only bought the new one on the night so have not had a chance to hear much of it yet. They played about 4 tracks off it all of which sounded good.
All in all I would say they were very much like I remember them - which is great.

Next up...The Fall on Friday can't wait! I missed Von Sudenfed playing while I was on holiday - but heard it was an 'interesting' night. Rumour is that he has a new line up again.....

Yep, he's sacked the Yanks already. Must be on about the 47th Fall line up now.
Glad you enjoyed the BT gig, they were one of the best live bands I ever saw back in the early 90s. Their performance of Treehouse on The Word was one of the very few highlights of that tacky programme.
