Anyone else hereabouts at last night's show? Or the night before? I thought it was great, though not as great as when I last saw him 13 years ago in Dublin. He played keyboards for all bar the first three or four songs last night. He was stuck in the same keyboard setting - carnival - all night though. I kept thinking the merry-go-round was about to start. I'm sure the next button up is a calypso setting and wish he'd moved it occasionally. More later. |

Saw him in Brisvegas last Monday. Great show. Definitely better than 2005 which was ordinary. Band was hot and loved the carny feel of the keyboards. Did 7 songs of last 2 albums. Interesting choices from back catalog. Great version of Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll, All Along Watchtower, and especially Ballad Of A Thin Man. Greta review in Australian web site which I have now unfortunatley forgotten. Voice especially suits newer songs, particularly stunning version of Nettie Moore. |

I was there on the Wednesday night Pádraig and I thought it was excellent. Had really good centre seats eight rows from the front. Third time I've seen Dylan live and this was easily my favourite. What really made it for me was his band - just a phenomenal blues/rock outfit. Did a lot of stuff of Modern Times - which I was glad about because it really suited the band's style. Highlights for me were 'Thunder on the Mountain', 'Nettie Moore' and an incendiary version of 'Highway 61'. I loved the way at the end Dylan and the band came to the front of the stage and just stood there in a tight group looking impassive as the audience stood and cheered - there was something very very cool about it. |
