I read the news today, oh boy. You gotta love my home state, Louisiana, where the corruption flows freely like Dixie beer at a Bourbon St. dive, larded with nuggets of hypocrisy, like dead bodies floating down Canal St. after Katrina... It's had more than its share of hilariously corrupt politicians, from the Kingfish to Edwin Edwards (doing time as we speak), who famously remarked that the only thing that would get him thrown out of office was if they found him with "a dead boy or a live girl". The latest in that fine tradition is David Vitter, shifty, pudgy, beady black-eyed, diaper wearing Senator from Metairie, La. Though he has been one of the biggest proponents of the "sanctity of marriage" and, furthermore, that gay marriage is the biggest threat to that sanctity, he is the first major politician to have been outed as a customer of the infamous "DC Madam". He even reportedly made calls from the Senate floor to the Madam's prostitutes, requesting to be diapered (hey, not my thing, but each to his own). The hypocrisy is just stunning. He and his wife were both big critics of Clinton, during the impeachment, his wife even famously mocking Hillary, cleverly remarking that if her own husband strayed, that she'd Bobbitize him. And yesterday, Vitter and his shrewier half appeared in public, supposedly apologizing, but really casting themselves as victims, whining that the press was hounding them. Amazing! What fucking maggots. Long may they roast in hell! |

Wow, what a story. Makes you wish Randy Newman would write a followup to his "Good Old Boys" album. Actually, he doesn't need to, does he? You could play that album and it would still be relevant to today. Maybe more so than ever... |

Y'know, I'm starting to feel more and more Old Testament toward these folks all the time...if they want to put on the mask of moral integrity they really should have the ol' eye-for-an-eye slapped on them when they inevitably slip up...hold Mrs. Vitter to her threat and have her Bobbitize the guy. On live TV. Yeah, there you go. (OK, I think I need to go take my Prozac and lie down for awhile...) |

They seem to fester in the Republican party these days. Last year it was George "Macca Boy" Allen from Virginia. I'm glad his political future was ruined before he could run for President. He was cut from the same cloth as Bush. I'm still amazed that close to 30% of the population is still swollowing the obvious lies from Bush. The spins and lies from Bush get more preposterous with each passing day, that even a grade schooler could see through them. My new hero on the Democratic side is Jim Webb from Virginia. I loved the way he chopped up Lindsay Graham from South Carolina for breakfast on Meet The Press. |
