I'm not a big fan of tributes, and was going to avoid this, but dammit, I think I'll have to succumb and buy it, because: a) it's the Go-Betweens, for chrissake, and b) the version of "Lee Remick" it contains rocks like a safari park chimp Hmm, wonder what'd be the cheapest and most expeditious way for us Yanks to order it? |

there's some pretty good people on that - Augie march, New Buffalo, Youth Group, Darren Hanlon. Worth a punt, I'd say. When's the release date? |

Here's some links to a few recent articles in the Australian press about the new tribute album: http://www.smh.com.au/news/music/gobetwe ens-a-hit-30-years-on/2007/06/07/1181089 295334.html http://blogs.smh.com.au/sit/archives/200 7/06/tributes_rocky_road_for_homage.html http://www.xpressmag.com.au/archives/200 7/06/dave_mccormack_1.php |

I don't know whether it is possible, but couldn't the 2cd set be made available to us Europeans via the Go-Bees store? |

Mine's on its way to the UK from JB HiFi. Even with the extra postage it's still cheaper than the 1cd version from Amazon UK. |

Ordered mine through Redeye, slightly cheaper than JB HiFi. They deliver pretty fast too, considering. Redeye are selling the single disc version through Amazon for about £7 cheaper than Amazon themselves, btw... |

Just bought the CDs today. Wonderful !! Just finished the first side and I'll listen to the live disk soon. Bob Evans does a great job. New Buffalo does wonders with No Reason To Cry. Simply wonderful folks. |

CD turned up yesterday all the way from Oz to the UK in a few days. I'm not usually a fan of tribute albums (other than the Leonard Cohen one "I'm Your Fan") but this is stunning - the best ever! On first play my faves are Adele's version of "Finding You", Glenn's version of "Dive For Your Memory" and Sarah Blasko's "Bye Bye Pride" and .what the hell - everything is great. Well worth a purchase! |

If the record sounds like the radio broadcast of the tribute gig - I'd be inclined to pass on it. Nothing against tributes and all that but the Go-betweens were such an idiosyncratic bunch of odd balls that nobody could possibly cover the go-between's songs quite like the Go-betweens themselves. And I mean that in a complimentary rather than derogatory way. |

Yeah, that version of Lee Remick is shite Joe. But a Swedish band called The Wannadies did a very good version of it in the mid-90s. In fact I heard their version before I ever heard The Go-Betweens version! The original wasn't on any album at the time. I also thought that about Sarah Blasko when I first heard her on Triple J last November on the tribute night. |

The Radio Dept is an excellent group. I warmly recommend "Pulling our weight EP" and "Worst taste in music". |

Finally ordered Write Your Adventures Down today. Austin got his cd insert signed by Glenn Richards from Augie March yesterday. We were both at the AM concert yesterday in Detroit. I bought AM'a "Moo, You Bloody Choir" at the merch booth last night. |
