He could be pretty smug and clueless, but he did have a number of cool guests on his Tomorrow show back in the late-70s/early 80s...the most memorable being the infamous interview with John Lydon around the time of "Metal Box" where Johnny played his contemptuous, unresponsive self to the hilt, pushing Snyder to the point where he was so angry he could barely get words out. Gripping television...

I always liked him, smug and clueless or not, thought he seemed like a good egg, and gave him credit for mixing it up with some of those classic punky types, back in the day. I have a DVD collecting some of the best of those interviews and, I gotta tell ya, he made some of the interviewees seem pretty stupid, just by open-mindedly, to the best of his ability, grilling them about what they were attempting to say with their art. He was, admirably, really stepping out of his comfort zone, and no question, it often made for gripping TV. So definitely, I say, "Respeck, Tom Snydah!"...

Yessir. It's pretty f-ing amazing. I can't quite figure it out, cuz they have a live audience, but they use some pretty serious explosives...can't see how that would be legal, but maybe things were lax way back in the day, the 70s or whenever that was...
