Meet Robert and get a signed copy of the new album
Oct 3rd, 2007, 7:17am
From the "Louth Reader":

ROBERT Wyatt will be signing copies of his new album 'Comicopera' at Off the Beaten Tracks in Aswell Street, Louth on Monday, October 8.
The eagerly anticipated album is released world-wide, also on Monday and Robert, who lives in Louth kindly agreed to visit the shop during a break from promoting the album.

As well as meeting Robert, fans of the rock legend will be able to get their hands on a special edition vinyl version of the album at the signing.

The LP is a double heavyweight gatefold deluxe with one act a side, and an exclusive poem by Robert Wyatt etched on Side D.

There will also be assorted Robert Wyatt goodies at the signing and all the
album's artwork has been designed by Robert's wife Alfie Benge.

Owner of Off the Beaten Tracks, Mark Merrifield said: "We are really proud and excited that Robert Wyatt has chosen our shop to sign copies of the album on the day of its release.

"The town is really lucky to have such a respected and fantastic musician and a lovely bloke."

It's Robert's first release on the Domino label and 'Comicopera' is described by the record company as more light and live sounding than its predecessors.

It is the sound of a group of musicians and friends like Anja Garbarek, Paul Weller and Brian Eno playing in the room together.

Is there a Louth in England too then? Do they talk funny like the people in Ireland's Louth do? (Well, the ones that aren't economic immigrants from Dublin talk funny anyway).

Louth is in Lincolnshire, England and is about 15 miles from where I live (Cleethorpes). RW lives there and also has a home on the Fitties camp (holiday homes by the beach - but you cannot live there all year round) in Humberston, which is about 2 miles from where I live. Here endeth the geography lesson.
