Lindy has already been interviewed for it. Presumably Robert has too. I don't know when it will be broadcast, but I'll post here when I do.

That's got to me a tough interview for Lindy, with her being absent for a lot of the recording due to her father's illness. I hope Amanda is also included in the inteviews, as she was a huge part of 16LL. A John Willsteed interview would be nice as well, as it's a lot of his acoustic guitars

Hi Pádraig, hi Michael,

what does it mean to be included in the next classic Australian album serious?
I can't get the meaning behind that.
Is it interviews on albums in a paper?

Thanx for your answers!
Andreas from Germany!

The Triffids DVD was great; I expect this one will be too!

Andreas, a quick google suggests it's an Aussie series of documentaries "that explores the creation of four masterpieces across four decades: Diorama by Silverchair, Woodface by Crowded House, Born Sandy Devotional by the Triffids and (I'm) Stranded by the Saints."

You can buy the DVD with the original four documnetaries from various online outlets.

What Simon said is spot on Andreas. I don't like anything I've heard by Silverchair (which isn't much) and didn't see the Crowded House program, but the Triffids and Saints ones were both great - even if a lack of archive footage meant they kept repeating the same two or three clips in the Saints show.

Interesting. I always thought Woodface was a classic New Zealand album.

The Crowdies are gods! They're as subtle and intelligent as Russell Crowe is lumpy and oafish! What a ham. Hey, this board is strict, innit. I just tried to type the word, starts with W, rhymes with cranker and it wouldn't let me.

But what in Hades is Silverfish doing in such noble company? Kinda cheapens the whole thing, man.

Exactly Evan!!!!!
I warn you that you may, however, get into trouble with some of our more voracious scribes if you mention Crowded House in a positive way...

Ewan you are not allowed to swear and offend others until you have posted at least a 1,000 posts!!!! LOL!

Crowded House is a sore subject round these parts.

After reading this link i found a tremendous piece on The Triffids on this partuclar Classic Aus albums thing on yout tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrn-EQvi3 Zk
There's actually another link to the other sections of the show if you look, I seem to have lost them.

The beginning of this reminds me of Tupelo by Nick Cave, funny that...

Tangentally, just came back from a Crowded House show last night. They played this tiny, 350-person capacity pub about an hour out of Auckland. The band were in fine form, playing a bunch of hits as well as an entire album's worth of new material for the record they're demoing at the moment. As someone who found "Time On Earth" a little underwhelming, I can attest that the new material is very very good.

Hi Lawrence, what's the weather like in New Zealand this time of year. With global warming Irish winters have become very mild and dry. We could end up with a Brisbane like climate!!

Sorry to board members (apart from Lawrence) for this gratuitous post but sometimes, just sometimes ... I get the irresistable urge to post everything I think on this board ... wink, wink ...

The Triffids and Silverchair programmes in the classic albums series are on as part of the Australian Film Festival in London on 9th March.

I'm going through a big Crowded House phase at the moment. I apologise if I'm going over old ground here, but I see no shame in saying I love both bands....however I'm sure one of the long term scribes here can take me to task on this!

You like what you like Adam. I like a lot of Crowded House songs too. I just played their Byrdhouse EP the other day. It takes me back to buying it in Venince Beach in November 1989 and I like that memory. Great EP too.

People who hate the Crowdies hate themselves.
