Good call, Spence. HOL are a band I've only discovered recently - and are a great addition to my listening. Girl With the Loneliest Eyes is a great song. Though my song of the day is "Hell of a Summer" by The Triffids. I'm trying to listen to them more, though always preferred the GBs. Saw The Triffids live at the Paddington RSL in Sydney in 1988 - not a great gig, as I remember it, though boasted an entertaining cover of Madonna's "Into the Groove". | ||

Momus - The day the circus came to town. The more accessible face of Momus was his eary acoustic based leanings, this comes from Cicrus maximus and its lyrics are based upon a conversation he had with a friend of mine. What's interesting on this track is, that some of the sounds, that were played on Emulator by Momus collaborater Neil Martin, remind me of the David Dundas soundtrack for Withnail and I, the pipe organ in particular, and I think boh albums would have been recorded around 85'86. Christ knows what I am on about here, but uyou know, have keyboard will waffle... | ||
