Went into Valley last night to see the Walk of Fame. Yes first one is GB's. Info on plaque only mentions first history of band and critically acclaimed first 5 albums. Impressive looking stone plaque. Can't believe Billy Thorpe isn't there as he started in Bris in early days. Great idea. Had a coupla beers, and reminisced. |

Can some one please help me?.I am an ex student of the "Harry Lebler Drum Academy" in Mary st. Brisbane 1956.I still possess my Blazer, which is still as new, also a large framed photogragh of Harry playing at "Cloudland", and a photograph of the first school committee, all are related to 1956.I was hoping that Brisbane might have a Museum for music that may be interested.I hope some one can give me some information on what I am seeking,I feel these articles have great historical value. |

Andy, Try http://www.museumofbrisbane.com.au/ Not to be confused with the 'Queensland Museum', the 'Museum Of Brisbane' is more about social history. they currently have a traveling display (pictures only) that spotlights 'The Zoo' and 'Cloudland' and puts them in some sort of social context. They would be my first port of call. |
