He burned pretty brightly there for a bit in the late 60s, even if few people noticed at the time or remember now. Think I'll pull out Delaney & Bonnie's "Motel Shot" tonight and drink a whiskey to the man. |

Wow, there goes the third one...I don't have Motel Shot any more, but I do have the killer best-of Rhino put out in the 90s. Can't remember, is Bonnie still around? |

I think so, Allen. And that Rhino best-of is a winner. It's weird given how good some of their stuff was back in the day that neither seemed to do anything of note in their solo careers. |

Well, other than punching Elvis Costello in the nose...put it down to alchemy, I think. |

Just finished that best-of. Wow, even better than I remembered. Almost makes me want to order up a copy of On Tour and/or Motel Shot. |

I had the same experience with "Motel Shot," Allen. Hadn't played it in a long while, and wondered why. Sounded great. If you can find it for a reasonable price, I recommend it highly. |

Just read in the Reuters REAP notice that Delaney taught George how to play slide guitar. In the words of Johnny Carson, "I did not know that!" http://www.reuters.com/article/peopleNew s/idUSTRE4BS07W20081229 Not mentioned in the Rueters article is how Delaney encouraged Eric Clapton to "use your voice and start singing more, or else you will lose it." |
