As the threads have become a bit samey and also non existent of late I thought I'd ask the question, what's happening for you this weekend, or any other weekend for that mater, that's if you have a weekend!

This weekend, i am doing my first car boot sale. Though its not really a car boot sale, its called a car boot sale at the local church village hall, but its really a jumble sale. A decorating table to put my things on. I was thinking of selling a CD digipak single by Rocket from the crypt for 50p, 'On a rope'. I wonder if that will go?, "More psychobilly vicar"!?

I just wish it would stop raining for the weekend.

Saturday morning is the market in the village (veg and fruit for the week, catching up with friends for coffee), afternoon is kayaking with the children normally and the evening tomorrow is watching our friend Yonathan Avishai's concert/show in Trémolat. There is a young Swedish singer called Eskélina who looks quite interesting as support.

Sunday we have a concert organised with the cultural association of the village, a trio playing a mixture of gypsy music and russian folk tunes. I'm doing the mulled wine and small pastries for afterwards...

I feel exhausted already !

It's my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow so a day with friends coming over to ours, lots of treats for the kids and lots of wine for the adults. Can't play any vinyl though with kids running wild around the house, will have to wait till they go to bed.

Also intend watching I Am Trying To Break Your Heart by Wilco again as haven't seen it in years.

Play some of the Xmas-present music I haven't got around to listening to yet...which is more Silver Jews :-)

I've got a date with a woman I met through Match.com. It's the modern way of meeting people, y'know. No idea whether she's a Go-Betweens fan though. Monday I'm going to a trade show for the cycle industry (I work on a cycling mag). And next Friday I'm going to Lancing in Sussex to be measured for a bike. Who says life isn't interesting?!

And having taken up playing poker about three years ago. I'm enjoying my best spell ever. I play most Wednesday evenings with friends in Bristol A fiver each, winner takes all - and I've won four of the last five times I've played. Woohoo! This weekend I might just buy some more books and CDs with my winnings, probably Emily Barker's Despite the Snow (she did the music for the BBC's recent Wallander adaptations.

Its C_Gull jr's fifth birthday on Monday so its party, party, party for me all weekend. Don't s'pose Jon and Spence this will compare with Magazine's post show party but the lad is showing musical promise and last week brought The Evangelist in from the car demanding I put it on the CD player. This was one stroppy demand I could not refuse!

Lancing Si, be afraid, be very afraid!

Good idea for a thread Spence. Andrew always has such marvelous-sounding weekends!

Since I gave up my last weekend to visit my mom upstate I'm jealously guarding this one for myself. There's a slight promise of rain this weekend and we need it desperately. I anticipate continuing my unending task of repairing holes in the bathroom walls, reading a chunk of the excellent book on Cold War Modern Design a friend of mine brought back to me from his New Year's visit to London and, I expect, one or two dinners with friends. Finally, I should be able to squeeze in a little time on the guitar; I need to spend some time on all these half-written songs.

Simon, the last three serious relationships I had were with people I met online - so, I don't think it's so modern anymore! It's almost necessary when you're like me and everyone in your social circle has either gotten married or is completely undatable for whatever reason. Good luck with the date!

My weekend = oodles of fun. First, I have to get the smog check done on my car so I can register it this year. Then, it's putting the finishing touches on mastering my new album, and then hopefully, finishing up the cover art. I'm sure I will also eat at least one burrito, and hopefully have time to listen to Seance by the Church.

I'm also doing my yearly round-up record/cd purge, where I go through all the bad or mediocre records I bought over the last year or two and figure out which ones to sell. A good way to get a quick $80 or so from the record store, as well as to keep the record collection from sprawling out into other rooms.

...to the market for the weekly shop, re staining the front fence (the best part is I get to play my Go B's albums with speakers tuned to the outdoors),
I get motivated and strangely emotionally upbeat.
Got friends over Australia Day 26th for a 'lamb roast,so looking forward to some great wine, chat and solving world problems.
I guess my dating days are over, Monica probably wouldn't approve. Hope the date goes well Simon..
I also want to find some 'Who' back catalogue, I'm a Boy, Happy Jack , Pictures of Lily its just been humming around my head last few days..

Nothing too special this weekend, Spence, but next weekend my band, The Lucky Ones, are playing a gig for the first time in, like, four years. The venue we played most often is closing this spring, and the owner asked if we'd give it one more go. The songs have come back easy enough - the only thing I dread, like a root canal, is stringing up my old Rickenbacker. Love the guitar, hate the g-d floating bridge, or whatever it's called.

I didn't end up buying the Bruce album afterall. They were playing it in the shop while I was there and I was underwhelmed. I'll wait for a while with this one I think.

Hope the gig goes well Rob.

Oh, the vicar was at my car boot sale, but wasn't interested in Rocket from the crypt, he didn't like the artwork. No, I really enjoyed it. Actually came away in profit and delighted at seeing many children's faces with big smiles after buying my girls cast offs, all going to good hoes to be enjoyed once again! All I could hear in the back of my car going round to the village hall was the sound of electronic samples of cows, sheep, horses and god knows what else on the farm!!

Hope gig went well Rob. What's your myspace? Randy hope you fixed the holes, and good luck to the online daters! I Am Trying To Break Your Heart Si is one of my very fave music docusoaps. Its very moving after all the turbulence to hear that song at the end, from Willy Wonka??

Actually, my typing, is so bad its unbelievable, but its due to the fact that I can't type, that is obvious, but its also down to the new Apple keyboards, the height of each letter is so small its easy to miss, hit the wrong letter, and as most of the time I am working when I post, i try to get done as quick as possible, and i don't have time to check, so the reader is left with bad grammar, unable to undertsand my piss poor attempts at trying to articulate something and of course hoes instead of homes!!

Spence, didn't get to watch it in the end, we all stayed up drinking too late. I would have been seeing double if I put it on. I'll keep it for this weekend.

Wilco are releasing a live DVD this Spring, some time before thier new album. Hope it's better than Sky Blue Sky but from some of the songs I've heard them showcasing at gigs I'm not so sure...

And your typo made me laugh, very funny.

Look forward to the new Wilco. I know, I am not sure where they can go now, they will probably turn into the Grateful Dead.

Live, they are incredible though. The line up is the best line up they have ever had.
