The Wilco board (Via Chicago) is reporting the death of ex-bandmate Jay Bennett. Died in his sleep last night apparently. Very talented musician who worked on a lot of the best Wilco stuff up to and including the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot album (e.g co-wrote 'Jesus etc.). Had a very public falling out with Jeff Tweedy during the recording of that album which was captured on the documentary 'I am Trying to Break Your Heart'. Sad news. Was just playing Summerteeth on the way to work this morning... |

What a shame, a sad end really, given his exit from Wilco and the recent lawsuit. RIP Jay. |

Wow this is sad. Seemed like he was suing Wilco to fund a much needed hip-replacement operation. It could be argued that Wilco made their most interesting records when Jeff Tweedy was co-writing with him - Being There, Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. |
