A new song Spence ? How come he's a millionaire ? Last thing I heard he was the lecturer at Glasgow Poly on the music biz course that launched Belle and Sebastian's career. I am out of touch with the UK media scene, so maybe he's won of those TV PopStar competitions ??? |

Pretty much anything on American Idol. I managed to watch 5 minutes of AI a couple of years ago as a fellow worker's sister was in competition on a preliminary episode. She didn't make it further though, so I stopped watching. She was too traditional jazz for the judges. Kevin, Do you include grunge groups in your late 80s to mid 90s crap? I find I never listen to the dozen or so grunge cd's that I bought anymore. To each his own I say. I still find myself shoegazing at times by listening to early Blur, Slowdive, Pale Saints, and My Bloody Valentine every once in a while. |

Andrew, no its an old one from a crepuscule comp. I suspect Alan is fairly well off ( I joke about his millionaire status, I really have no real idea!), as i have read that he wrote and co wrote some big hits in the uk, mainly for teenage pop bands such as 911 who used to sell shot loads years ago. Yeah the Stow college thing, I think he;s pretty much still involved in all of that, known for launching Belle and Sebastian, Biffy cyro and Snow Patrol etc |
