The Daily Show had a field day with this, too, Padraig, as you might expect. For a crew that ran roughshod over my country for eight years, right-wingers seem remarkably laughable these days. What, exactly, were these folks protesting? A friend of mine described this movement as "Save the Rich." Here's a nice bit of John Oliver pointing out the historical ridiculousness of this "tea bag" nonsense: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/17 /john-oliver-lectures-tea_n_188116.html |

The tea-bagging events were sponsored by Faux, er Fox News. Republicans are laughable these days as Rob states. They are devoid of new ideas and retreat to outdated Reagan era policies and mantras that don't cut the mustard anymore. They seem to be deeply wounded by the Bush administration, and yet they can't let go of them or shut them up. |

Thanks for the link Rob. That's easily the best use I've seen them make of John Oliver. |

That's great Rob. Thanks for the link. Is everyone in New Jersey a midget (apart from that very proper lady) or is that Limey guy very tall? |

I had to Google Oliver's reference to the Pear of Anguish (ouch!). I dunno how tall he is, Padraig, but he's long on funny. |

Yeah, this is hilarious. I wouldn't have been able to run through a bit on "tea bagging" while keeping a straight face, either. Keeps making me think of that John Waters film, "Pecker." |
