Where can I find more information about this release? When was it recorded? I can d/l it from Amazon.com quite inexpensively, but wanted to hear the opinions of some fellow fans first.

Thanks.

Hi Phil, you can find some of this information over on the discography page: Tracks 1-6 recorded at SNAP, 10th November 1988; Tracks 7-15 recorded at SNAP, 11th September 1987. SNAP was a radio program based in LA.

The 1988 tracks are done acoustically, while the '87 session is the full band in all its electric glory. I'm seldom into acoustic sessions of anyone, so I prefer the '87 'electric' session. Most live Go-Betweens material that I've heard from the 80s tends to be endearingly sloppy and or stiff, and these sessions are no exception. It's a fun listen, though I don't listen to it very often. Honestly, I wouldn't shell out a lot of money for it, unless you're an obsessive completist, but it's nice to have.

I'd say it's definitely worth an inexpensive download. I'd agree that the band set is endearingly sloppy, and I think the acoustic set has a great deal of charm.

Phil,

If you can get it from Amazon.com quite inexpensively, then buy it as it's well worth it. It was originally available as a bonus disc with the initial units of Bellavista Terrace.

Jeff and Allen,

What 80's live boots that you have are you favorites? I only have the September 10, 1987 Roxy show and the Novemeber 11, 1988 McCabe's show from the tree/branch/leaf exchange.

Well I think it is worth it and the Acoustic Session is lovely, and I have to say I play it a fair bit, more than other live recordings I've got.Good versions of RnR friend and Quiet Heart. The banter with the long departed Deirdre is great. The band set is less good.

Definitely worth it. The acoustic set is very relaxed. The little screw-ups & banter adds charm. Quiet Heart & R'N'RF are perfect as Frankie says.
You can pick up the CD quite cheaply if you shop around. Mine came from Amazon Marketplace.
