Listening to The Kinks at the moment, it just seems to fit the UK's two day summer fairly well. Might go for The Bryds and The Beach Boys later.

Cheers

Its fantastic Geoff. It's like the way Animal Collective used to sound before they went all electronic on their latest album. Although its a much easier listen than AC ever were back then. The GB album is full of great layered vocal harmonies set against mostly acc guitar, piano, bass and drums. You really need to hear it,its not easy to describe which ultimately is usually the sign of a great album, in this case at least

Listening to

Bill Callahan - Sometimes I wish........

John Martyn - Solid Air (I had stupidly written this guy off as "milkmaid churning" music as Padraig likes to describe the old English folkies- he wasnt in that bracket at all)

Elvis Costello - Secret, Profane and Sugarcane. Shits all over the patchy Almost Blue

Sonic Youth - The Eternal. Nothing new here, but nobody can touch them in the US alt rock field.

Mordant Music - Picking O'er The Bones

Kevin, I'll take that as a recommendation then. I definitely had him in the "milkmaid went a-churning" bracket. I've almost bought something by him many times but always put it down again due to churning fear factor.

Padraig, my curiousity about John Martyn was aroused by all the eulogies at the time of his death. Musicians and music journalists of the type who would normally never comment when somebody of his ilk died were devastated, and were waxing lyrical about some of his albums. I'm talking about people like Robert Smith, Robert Wyatt and respected music journalist Simon Reynolds. Reynolds in particular surprised me, this guy likes music on the fringes whether it be "rock" or "dance", and he said Solid Air was his favourite album ever. Also my mate Gerry loves Solid Air and he has very similar tastes to me.
I would gamble on Solid Air, especailly since it has just been reissued yet again. The bargain bins must be full of older versions of this album that you could pick up for a few dollars.
Also, I am sure there a good few folks on here who can vouch for Solid Air with far more authority than me.

I would second that on the Grizzly Bear CD as well as the Bill Callahan which is truly excellent. Strangely for a devoted EC fan I've not got the latest, I'm waiting for the vinyl! but have a nagging doubt about his pretentions

The No-shame Prize would be more appropriate; or at least an award for science for his massive investment in Viagra and other stimulants suitable to an elderly Parliamentary member.

The Who - Quadrophenia

My kid's at a counter-demonstration today against Fred Phelps and his "God Hates Fags" gang. He also posted a little memorial message on Facebook in tribute to the D-Day soldiers. In a small way both things add to my hope that maybe, just maybe, we're starting to make our way past the idiotic, meaningless polarities and false dichotomies (right/left, etc.) that have kept us from focusing on anything of real importance for far too long.

graham coxon - the spinning top. initially thought this was weak, repeated listens show it to be his most realised album. his guitar playing, mostly acoustic, is excellent. he still cant sing too well, but is improving.

junior boys - beyond dull care

big youth - natty cultural dread/hit the road jack (twofer)

john martyn - solid air

richard hell - blank generation

tv on the radio - return to cookie mountain

dinosaur jr - farm. persevering with this against my better judgement, perennial out of key/tune guitar solos is spoiling yet another album of theirs.

Last night:

Associates--Affectionate Punch
GoBees--Live in London first disc. This was a great thing to play to.

This morning: The Moffs' "Another Day in the Sun" courtesy Geoff. This is a super entertaining piece of overblown primitive psychedelia.

Kevin, the Wipers' "Best of" is a good set. I think I bought it way the hell back when it came out. I then bought a couple of their albums as well ("Follow Blind" and "Silver Sail") and found that they didn't have enough musical ideas when taken to that level. They were good for maybe about 4 or 5 good songs. But songs like "Soul's Tongue" and "No Solution" are simply great.

You're digesting the Wipers and I'm digesting the Associates. The only real obstacle for me is Billy McKenzie. He has such a contrived sound.

Oops, that last entry was unclear. I did not mean to say the Wipers only did 4 or 5 good songs in their career. I mean the two albums I bought were good for about 4 or 5 good songs apiece. That's not a horrible score but it's not what I'd hoped.

Randy, I am just swatting up on The Wipers just now and it looks like you are listening to their later work. The first 3 or 4 albums seem to be rated very highly and they can be found on a box set called The Wipers Box Set. It seems to retail for the price of a single album so I can feel an order to Amazon coming on.

Ah, I'm going to check the box set out, Kevin, because I do remember the older tracks on the "best of" being the best. Such as "Romeo," another great I neglected to mention in my post above.

I never thought of them as surf, though, until you mentioned that. I just assumed they followed in the tradition of the Pacific Northwest's classic 60s garage band the Sonics. And I hear some 13th Floor Elevators influence too. But I think you're right about the surf thing.

Spence my brother-in-law is a big Waterboys fan and Room To Roam is one he plays a lot. From what I remember I think it's good, I like Strange Boat among others. It's a good companion to Fisherman's Blues. I think both of those albums were recorded in Spiddal/An Spidéal, just outside Galway where I'm from. They suit the place very well...

Animal Collective, last record. Difficult album for me, but it seems it's worth not to give up. It's in the car and for now I like it until track 6.
Low Anthem - Darwin. Some jewels here, the two first songs are pure masterpieces, but I think that some of them weaken the whole thing. I need to listen a bit more.

The Wipers box arrived. I had to go pick it up from the Post Office for some reason. The first album strikes me as typical, dated punk. But I'm now listening to the second album "Youth of America." It's quite magnificent. Still punk, but punk with art.

Da Yoot' - Daydream Nation

Beyond the amazing often-praised sound and feel of it, a real step forward in that they were showing their humanity for more than one song an album and beginning to let the smug romanticization of decadence and death fall away.

jesus and mary chain - 21 singles. 21 is probably pushing it - the first dozen or so are belters though and Sometimes Always which is single No 17 is one of their greatest moments.

In my concerted efforts to widen my horizons and listen to more "pop" I played Pet Sounds today. This does count as pop doesnt it? Also Greatest Hits by Sly and The Family Stone - pop?

Kraftwerk - Computer World. Germanic futuristic pop?

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis

Have to listen to it on the headphones as my partner can't abide it. Not exactly the most accessible music ever! But an enormous shame that Jimi Hendrix died before ever getting to record properly with these kind of musicians.

And a tip from a friend for Alela Diane 'White as Diamond'. The last time he recommended something to me it was James Blunt so I am approaching this latterday folkie with extreme caution.

A few new Wilco songs, a b-side and bonus track from the new album, which I haven't received yet:

Unlikely Japan - An early working of Impossible Germany from a few years ago, certainly before Nels Cline joined, quite different with a neat ending.

Dark Neon - A b-side from the You Never Know 7" single. This sounds good from initial listens. Apparently it's nearer to Bull Black Nova than others on the new one. A grower I think.

generally regarded as peter hook's tribute to the sound of oasis. which is somewhat of a fair call. it does contain what do you want from me, which could melt even the iciest of hearts (the best middle-8 of the 90s?). a couple of other nice tracks on there.

admittedly, it does indeed take me back to a time and a place. like all good pop records.

Last night: Alain Bashung--Pizza. He seems like a Johnny Hallyday for the 80s. When his death was announced on this board, either there was a link to a youtube video or I just chose one at random but it was astonishing. It was a live clip of him doing a big overblown ballad backed by an orchestra, late in his career. I believe it was outdoors, kind of like the Hollywood Bowl. It was a very glamorous nighttime setting. After the song had pretty much finished, in a totally deadpan manner he pulled out a harmonica and soloed to the giant orchestral backing. I thought it was the coolest dadaesque moment in music ever. "Pizza" is not a bad record but it's nothing like that.

Kevin, what's a "brickie?"

a bricklayer. somebody who works on a building site. stereotypically a "brickie" will be a bit of a loud mouthed, pea brained jack the lad, with dodgy politics, and who wolf whistles at passing girls.

XY - I've never ever played the CD that came with the Wilco Book. I think it's because when I bought it I was on such a downer with the dogs dinner that was Sky Blue Sky. I guess I should give it at least a cursory listen while rereading the book now that I'm back onside with Wilco after the creative comeback that is Wilco The Album. The only clunkers on the new album for me are You and I, and You Never Know with its cringeworthy My Sweet Lord guitar rip off - both sound like they were written for radio.

I was on one of the Wilco messageboards to see what the fanatics thought of the new album. They seem a bit undecided but the overwhelming concensus was that at least it wasnt Sky Blue Sky mark 2 - they hated that with a passion by the sounds of it!!

Joe, I'm just not really into What Do You Want.. so most middle 8s of songs I listen to will be better than that, the middle 8 is the best part of that one :-)

Kevin the Wilco Book CD is good in parts, well worth a listen. There's a good few instrumentals and it's a bit ambient-ish with lots of use of laptops...This Is New, Diamond Claw, an early version of Hummingbird are great. Have only flicked through the book really.

I'd certainly recommend Loose Fur, Born Again In The USA is good, Tweedy, the Wilco drummer Kotche and Jim O'Rourke.

Have yet to hear Wilco The Album as I've ordered the vinyl and it only shipped a few days ago, hope I get it before we head up to Donegal for a holiday in a week.

Yeah reports seem to suggest it's better than SBS, which is a great relief. I've avoided listening to any of it, have only heard Wilco The Song which is a bit light. Have read about the George Harrison style on You Never Know, can't wait as I love George Harrison :-)

Folks on that board seem to think Dark Neon should have been included on the album, a companion to Bull Black Nova.

BTW Kevin there's a really small pub in the middle of nowhere in Donegal that's painted entirely in the Celtic colours, top to bottom. It's hilarious.

Jesus and Mary Chain - Munki

After mentioning this earlier in the week I put it on tonight and really enjoyed it. They certainly finished on a high compared to some of their latter albums. I drifted away from them after Stoned & Dethroned and Honey's Dead. It must be cheap enough to pick up these days if you're an old JAMC fan.

Silver Jews - American Water
Pixies - Trompe Le Monde
Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs Vol. 1

Randy, Alain Bashung is a well respected artist. I don’t know too much about his work and very long career, but I think his music and lyrics improved with time and the last records were the best ones. He became some kind of Serge Gainsbourg successor (he has worked with him).
The youtube link you mention is a TV show (yearly music award) broadcasted by a french channel (in 2005).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R76URfXE_ ck
His last outing this year, on the same show, he was very weakened and died a few days later…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4BMHHnFI 3Y&feature=related
One of the last french giant.

Kev I loved Sometimes Always too, it was never gonna be a hit as the mainstream was still dominated by shit.
It was very Lee and nancy eh!?

Joe, a fave M8 of mine, or guitar break, is The Church, Ripple from Priest = Aura, 'bout 2min 4o sec, reminds me a lot of a fave of mine, the House of Love, though it has been stated that Guy and the gang ripped off The Church many moons ago. I like The church, but actually prefer HOL's output.

Monaco jeff were prev known as Revenge, with Hooky takin lead vox, I have an album somehere, One Tue passion was the album, Pineapple Head was out around the World cup '90 period I think, seem to remember playing it a lot at that time, it was OK.

i will dig out your church record and have a listen spence!

Joe, yeah Munki has I love rock n roll & I hate rock n roll, they open and close the record. It's quite a funky album, lots of energy in it. The Reid's sister, Sister Vanilla, sings a track called Mo Tucker on it and it works really well. I just checked there and it's €26 on play.com, i wouldn't buy it for that amount...i could send you a copy if you like.

Stoned & Dethroned sounded a bit same-y to me as the record progresses and never played it a huge amount aspart form some select tracks like Sometimes Always etc.

You've got me thinking of middle 8s from the 90s now, finding it hard to come up with a few goodies...

Shine On - House of Love, super middle 8 there.
Random Rules - Silver Jews, kinda lo-fi but great.

Kevin there's strong links between Donegal and Scotland, lots of migrant workers used to sail to Scotland to pick the tatties when in season a few generations ago.

Joe, I think Distortion is really good. I was a bit apprehensive about it after 'I', which sounded too much like 69 Love Songs. 'I' has some outstanding tracks though, like I Looked All Over Town.

The 6ths are really good as well, guest vocalists on all their songs.

Never checked out The Future Bible Heroes or The Gothic Archies, other projects of Merrit.

Jeez, who has 4 bands on the go these days?

Joe, get the German album. In my opinion it's House of Love's single best album. They would certainly do other great things but the German album just packs them in one after another.

Trou, thank you very much for your info. It was great to hear "La nuit je mens" again. I seem to have imagined that the performance was outdoors. And "Residents de la Republique" sounds good too. The material on "Pizza" is much more slight, hence the suggestion of a later-era Hallyday. When Bashung died I could get "Pizza" and also "Alain Bashung Vol. One" which is all early material (and a lot of it not very wonderful). I also ordered "Alain Bashung Vol. Two" but then was told it was no longer available. Of course, people were probably buying a LOT of Alain Bashung right then. It's always hard to check out an artist with a long career when you don't know anything about him. What would be the best CD of his later work?

Discs two and three of the Wipers box
GoBees--16 Lovers Lane & bonus disc. I let this one rest for probably a year since I last heard it. I was hearing all sorts of things I hadn't noticed before. The mix must be enormously different than the previous one. I still can't understand why they chose to include the energetic but entirely forgettable "Was There Anything I Can Do" over "You Won't Find it Again."

REM - Reckoning Deluxe- 25 yr anniversary release.

OK, so this cost me Ł17 to buy from the US but better than paying this from UK Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Reckoning-Deluxe -R-E-M/dp/B0027WNRK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8& s=music&qid=1246618584&sr=8-1
- dunno when there will be a UK release

I can never make my mind up which of the first 3 REM albums is my favourite, its normally Murmer, can very often be Fables Of The Reconstruction, but for the last few days it certainly been Reckoning. The sound quality on this remaster is astonishing, or maybe my 20 yr old plus version just sounds muddy, I dont know. The percussion and bass sound more muscular, and as with the Murmer reissue Stipes vocals are more upfront but dont lose the mystery of the originals. And its worth an extra fiver or so for the fold out cardboard sleeve. Havent played the bonus live disc yet, not much time for live albums and Reckoning always sounded like a "live in the studio" record to me

Randy, while The House Of Love's German Album is really good, I'd have to say their first proper album The House Of Love is outstanding. If you haven't heard that one I'd really recommend it.

A fair few songs from the German album ended up on their second album Fontana and suffered a bit from the production.

Hope, Love In A Car, Christine, Salomé & Man To Child are all fantatstic songs on their first album...I'd take this one anyday over the German album...

Heard "I Dont Know Why I Love You" by HOL on the radio yesterday, sounded pretty good. Cant help thinking the best HOL album would be a comp, never made a top notch album imo

joe, bbc6 music. i listen to it online at work. most of the shows play a great mix of old and new "alternative" music for want of a better term. its not unusual to hear a husker du song followed by grizzly bear followed by oasis(ok you cant have everything) followed by sonic youth followed by coldplay(see oasis) followed by HOL followed by Bowie followed by Neil Young etc etc.

I Don't Know Why I Love You is by far my favourite track from the Fontana album. My only copy of this is a tape, should really upgrade.

Yeah Padraig I know it's also called HOL but I was trying to avoid confusion!

Beck - Modern Guilt. I didn't like this at all when it was released but I'm warmimng up to it a bit more. If I had tp pick just one of his albums since Sea Change, which I think is his best, it'd always be The Information. And even that one could do with about 15 or 20 minuties chopped off.

XY, I have the first official album too. I confess "Christine" is not among my favorites. I prefer the more direct Creation productions. But the first official album is great too. And while we're talking about favorite House of Love moments, I love the gigantism of "Hannah." What a great way to open an album: high concept House of Love. The great stuff on the Fontana album is very great.

joe, there is also a listen again facility where you can select shows up to 4 days old i think, or maybe longer? eg - Steve Lamaq's show is worth a listen(although can be a bit indie fanboyish ;-)), there is a girl called Nemone who plays interesting stuff at times as well. There are kind of specialist shows as well - eg Stuart Maconie, Tom Robinson(yes that one!). Mark Reilly(ex of The Fall)'s show is a bit off the wall, but be warned there is also some early morning daytime pap. Its far from perfect radio, but then what is, and its fine for listening to at work. At the moment the reggae DJ Don Letts show is on air, might give it a listen here at work.
Each of the shows also gives you a link to the particular DJs webpage, from there you can browse things like tracklistings for shows which is a good indicator of whether the show will be any good

have included some links below for anybody who might be interested

Cats On Fire - The Province Complains

A masterwork with the best of the Smiths, Felt and all good 80s pop songs combined.
Hear songs like "Draw In The Rains", "White Mantled King", "Astray" or "Higher Grounds" and you can't help to fall in love with this music.

Finland roules! Unhappily they toured with the Bats but didn't come to Düsseldorf. Hopefully they return to germany in the near future!

Arctic Monkeys - Live In Texas 2006. Converting this from vinyl to mp3 for a neighbour, first time I've really heard this band apart from a few singles. It's good and they're pretty tight live.

Wilco - Wilco (The album). Got this yesterday, just in time for my holidays. The vinyl is lovely. About one listen so far. The first 4 songs sound good, some of the others sound a bit light. As always for me it'll take a good few listens to get into this.

Are there too many members in this band I wonder?

without sounding glib, maybe jeff tweedy needs to go back on the pills to fully get his mojo back. this is a fine album that stands up ok against weaker opposition, but this is wilco we're talking about and as such i reckon its only above AM and SBS in the wilco canon. the tryptich of being there, summerteeth and YHF stands tall in recent american musical history and are a tough act to follow but this is a band which should be at peak power and capable of emulating those 3, that they dont and given that SBS before it was a failure is disappointing. as XY says the first 4 on this new album are pretty good, but the album on repeated plays loses substance for me after that. its interesting to note that on the wilco messageboards the unanimous opinion of what are the best songs on the new album are one wing and bull black nova, easily the 2 edgiest, most atmospheric songs on the album. maybe they need to work with eno or somebody like that to develop further, but hell maybe tweedy doesnt want to go in that direction and its his band after all I suppose.
xy again maybe nails it with his observation about too many members vying for attention, sometimes less is more i guess and some of these songs do sound cluttered.

(After all the debate on SBS here a few years back, people seem apathetic to this album given the lack of posts about it.)

Yeah Kevin I agree...it's like that great line from 'Where the Buffalo Roam', where Bill Murray playing Hunter S Thompson says "you know, I hate to advocate drugs or liquor, violence, insanity to anyone. But in my case it's worked"...

I played it again at lunch and some songs are just so forgettable. I've only just got it so I might change my mind after repeated listens..

Even the straight forward songs on A Ghost Is Born knock the shite outta some of these ones, Company In My Back, Wishful Thinking, Theologians, Late Greats...

There's very little guitar work on this album (and I don't mean Nels Cline work-outs), I long for some of Tweedy's angular, less polished stuff from YHF and Ghost...

Maybe a single album culled form Sky Blue Sky and Wilco (The Album)might have been better...When I get to know this new one more I might pick the best 11/12 songs from the two albums...

It's seems a little odd that a band who really were mixing things up and coming out with some pretty interesting results - YHF, Ghost, Summerteeth, Wilco Book CD, Loose Fur records - should proceed to this style over the last two albums...

Its called songwriting...

I think there is a lot of beauty with the Wilco sound these days. I don't want wall to wall edginess personally, and I say that as a big fan and a big fan of edginess!! Yes it helps break things up a bit.

Glenn the drummer from Wilco, I seem to remember him in an interview circa SBS saying that there was an acceptance on Jeff and the rest of the guys on their part, to let the songs be what they are, no sonic backdrops, pure music, made with instrunents and feeling, I like that idea, and I think you can say that with this album. Ghost, SBS and this album, all fit perfectly together. a perfect tryptich.

Kev, re msg board scenarios, well we know don't we, there's onlty really a few people on these boards, and their collective views would swing one way or another, and I bet the vast amount of fans don;t even participate in their views and I guess dont always sum up everything, yup be subjective, but if Wilco ended up being atmospheric as you put it on all of their stuff, I'd ask the question, where are the songs? You get the edginess live that's for sure, and I'm quite happy leaving that way.

I suppose, I'm quite relaxed about the whole Wilco affair, it does me, it suits me just the way things are.

Oh and don't forget Eno works with Coldplay, fuc* that mate! :-)

Hi Stuart,

yes, I have heared the new album as well. But as I am a fan of early 80s sound I love the first album more at the moment. But I think Our Temperance Movement is a grower. And if you start with Our Temperance Movement, I know it is a good start ...

spence, if i want "songs" i'll listen to coldplay produced by eno ;-)
you can however have atmospheric, edgy songs (and albums), history is littered with them. theres just not too many getting made these days.

regarding the drummers interview, on reflection i think he's right in what he says and i dont think we'll ever get the "old" Wilco back, even if that was a good idea or not. good luck to them, the last thing groups should do is retread old ground and maybe they should just split up after 4 albums!!
would the greats like the velvets, the stooges, the smiths, the clash, television, the pixies et al still have the same aura if they hadnt split when they did, i guess we'll never know but i think we can hazard a guess to the contrary. joy division, nick drake, the doors and others had tragedy preventing them going past their sell by date of course.

Kevin, the Doors had passed their sell-by date well before Morrison expired in a bathtub. :-)

I agree that it is not reasonable to expect an artist to keep making the same music. In fact, that's a horrible idea. People are moving targets. You ride with them while it suits you and jump off when it ceases to. If you're lucky you'll find somebody whose arc of artistic growth is compatible. Your recent posts showing you playing Stones releases has gotten me to think about them. In my youth the Rolling Stones were my absolute favorite band. But after "Let It Bleed" I was pretty much finished. They just weren't doing things that interested me any longer. (One huge exception being that fantastic version of "Sister Morphine" they put on "Sticky Fingers").

A short life span is essential for the high-concept artists. I've regarded the Sex Pistols' "Never Mind the Bollocks" as a massive classic from the time of its release but could they have done very much of value after that? Maybe if they hadn't inducted that buffoon on the bass and they had started moving in the direction of PIL.

The Velvets' last album is still a pretty good record but it exhibited worrying signs of traditional pop polish that probably meant that the good stuff--the NYC shooting gallery-inspired stuff--was over. They stopped at the right time.

I'd like to think that Television might have had at least a good third album in them.

Really? (to both of you).

I was never a big fan of the Doors, Kevin. But, strangely enough, I used to have a copy of Morrison Hotel. It was unremarkable. And "Soft Parade?" Please. By "LA Woman" I didn't even want to know anymore. I see my "All Music Guide" gives that album high marks for the lyrics and "trancelike music" which I guess means it all sounds like "Riders On the Storm." I'd give them credit for the first two albums and that's about it.

Do you mean the reunion album Jeff? I've never even bought that, which goes to show what I expect from such exercises. I'm only aware of Marquee Moon and Adventure for original releases. That is correct, right? (Suddenly I'm wondering).

Randy, yes, that's the eponymous reunion album I speak of. It's worth a few bucks, if spotted in discount bins. You probably mean that they might've had a decent third album on the heels Adventure, pre-break-up. Could be true. For what it's worth, I think roughly half of Verlaine's solo debut is great. But I think that had Television played on it, it would've been better.

Re Wilco, the members all have extra carricular activities going on outside the Wilco HQ. Jeff has Loose Fur and Golden Smog, theres the bassist and gutarist who have the autumn defense, glenn has his Reich influenced projects and albums, Cline (your fave Kev!) has his own solo stuff, the output for most of the above has resulted much experimentalism / minimalist output, uch of which IMHO is great, maybe they get their experimental/edginess fix outsid the band, so when the band comes together, its back to the song? As you say Kev, Tweedy is off the pills, hey have settled a bit, which is fine by me, Just a thought.

The Wilco Album. The sequence of Deeper Down-One Wing-Bull Black Nova is superb and would stand up with most of Wilco's better output.

It just seems they don't reach those levels again on the rest of the record. Side 1 is sounding much better than Side 2 at this stage. Need far more listens and for some of the less immediate songs to sink into my brain and get under my skin. I also like I'll Fight, though I think it sounds a little like On and On from SBS which I was never very much into.

I'm finding it hard to get some time to listen to this properly as it's hard to get the kids to bed with these long days at the moment.

Yeah Randy, the anti-American bias is definitely a bad thing, and this is coming from someone who is always accused of having an anti-American bias!

But yes, Verlaine's first solo album is actually pretty good and worth owning, imo. It's not cohesive (in fact, the first song stinks), but at least half the songs are really good/interesting/melodic/artsy. You can tell he's going for something different, using piano and keyboards now and then to fill out the sound, etc.... It's almost got kind of an icy, cold feel.

His second solo album has a good song or two, but I feel he tanked after that.

For me, Tom's solo output is pretty patchy. I like maybe a few songs from each album, he suffers a lot from shit production, on every single album, or naff desk effects.

I quite like the 3rd Television album. Dunno why, i just do, haven't analysed why or whatever, it just floats my boat.
