When I play a CD on my computer it stops halfway through track 3 of every disc. It has only started doing this this week. It can't be coincidence because it happens every time no matter what CD it is. Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

sounds to me like you have changed something on the pc padraig. i reckon something has been updated somewhere. i would do a system restore to a date before this problem started - maybe to this time last week. i dont know how techy you are so here are some instructions. the instructions are for vista, if you have xp or another operating system it will be a similar procedure

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-v ista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/

if it doesnt solve the problem you can do another system restore to sync your pc back to the point it was at today. of course, if you have not played a cd on your pc for ages the problem may have occurred months ago which makes finding the restore point really hard to find!!

Thanks Kevin. Will try that out when I get a chance.
