Very sad. Just spoke to a friend who is a huge fan and saw him in concert just a few weeks ago.

Very sad. He was just getting his mojo back. :-(

His work with Crime & The City Solution was largely undervalued.

WTF? I *just* read an article about him in some magazine, can't remember which. Wow, this is very sad news. He's long been a hero of mine. For me his distinctive dissonant guitar squall was the key element that really drew me into to the Birthday Party. And he couldn't have been all that old, certainly no older than Grant when he died.

Just read that he was 50. That is so young.

I could never be bothered with The Birthday Party, no idea why because I went on to love Cave and the Bad Seeds. He seems to be a well respected guy though.
RIP

Wings of Desire would be downgraded a notch in my book if not for Six Bells Chime segment with Rowland Howard's churning guitar, Solveig Dommartin's trance dancing and Crime and The City Solution's performance. RIP Rowland and Solveig.
