Jeez, doesn't anybody read the News page anymore?! Apparently since July 22nd there has been a new Robert Forster song "It's Not What You Think" (and an Adele one too) to download.

There's a link from the play's author explaining RF's involvment too.

Anyone heard the songs yet ?

Andrew - this board started out life as a GB's related discussion forum but now it's just a springboard [offensive content removed - admin] to self promote. It's all off topic these days ... what I eat, drink, watch, listen to, how I like to fart, my daughter's likes ... she's so cute etc.
It's been that way for quite a while - collinsisation I think it's called.
A new Robert Forster song - who cares?!
Did I tell you about my trip to the barber ... maybe another time.

Andrew, thank you very much for making us aware of this. I don't really expect much Go Betweens news.

fsh, sorry to hear about your limitations.

fsh,

Hey, no-one forces you to go to the topic marked (strangely enough) 'Off-topic'

Does your grudge against P_____ C______ have a life outside cyberspace?

I've no idea who he is Andrew, but given the level of abuse I'm guessing he's a failed, wannabe journalist who is envious of me.

I thought at one point he was rumored to be Ewan Taliban McGinty, but of course that happens a lot. ETM was never that hateful in any other guise, though.

Fsh, I don't come to this website to watch you cyberbully people for any reason, be it seriously or for some warped sense of pleasure. I would not be the only one here who is constantly astounded by the stupidity and immaturity of your remarks. Surely you must be over the age of 5. One would think that, given your expected life experience,
the sort of abuse that you continually direct from left-field is beneath your dignity as an adult.
I would strongly suggest that you:
a. grow up
b. get over yourself
c. if all else fails, see a shrink. You need it...seriously.

My guess is someone didn't give him a turn on the swings when he was 4 - he hasn't forgotten or forgiven. And the resulting damage to his psyche has resulted in him not maturing even a little bit since then...

Here's what I wrote about him on this site on May 06, 2005. Four years later it unfortunately, for him mental wellbeing, still holds true.

fsh, you are a [offensive content removed] and your bravely annonymous quotes always bear that out. If you have nothing to contribute other than critisising a perfectly reasonable post I suggest you go to some pedantic, curmudgeon site and gripe away to your heart's content.

Such a brave little annonymous soldier. Mummy must be so proud.

Thanks for letting us know Andrew. They're both terrific songs, with Adele's just shading it for me so far.

Lest the attack on one of my favorite board denizens (I'm talking about Padraig here) obscure the fact, it's great to have a new Forster track. Kudos to Andrew for finding this in plain sight. I'm a little embarrassed. I guess I was spending too much time starting the "How I Like to Fart" thread : )

Back at ye Rob!

Seeing as the tracks were packaged together on iTunes I wonder if they were co-writes between Robert and Adele. There is no writers credit with the tracks.

..I down loaded the Butterfish tracks from iTunes...tend to agree with Padraig, Adele's track is very, very good, though Robert's is looming, driving..

And Wow a new song or 2. I did think it is about a year since the last LP and may be time for osme more RF music will download when I get home. Not posted much but still browsing/lurking taking tips for new/old music.

I've mentioned it before, but why doesn't Robert invite Amanda to join his band with Adele and Glen? Her vocals, oboe, flute and acoustic guitar would fill out an otherwise spare sounding three piece. Is it because Amanda would turn him down due to an agreement with Lindy that are a package deal in any reconciliation with Robert?

..more a muso question really, I'm not one, just love music, however would Lindys drumming suit RF's latest outings. Glen has been well suited of late.

Would Amanda fit with RF's songs now as well..?

Randy may be right, people move on..

Yes they do and some bridges do get burned and people move on. I'm glad Robyn Hitchcock got the Soft Boys back together again in the early part of this decade, however I don't expect to see the Egyptains again as Robyn and Andy Metcalfe aren't talking. Ditto for the Talking Heads.
