Rough Trade is selling the new Allo Darlin' album with an exclusive bonus disc that has six cover songs, including the Go-Betweens' "Dive for Your Memory." Elizabeth Morris is an outspoken GBs fan. You can hear it here:

Thanks Greg...I liked ADs first album a lot, so this is a double treat.

Got my copy of the album yesterday. I've only listened to the covers so far. Very nice version of Dive for Your Memory. Quite a sparse arrangement - mainly Elizabeth singing with drums.

Three of the covers have been previously released. Nothing to say if they're re-recorded.

The version of I Wanna Be Sedated with ukelele and tambourine is pitiful. The version of Eux Autres' City All to Himself is tremendous.

I agree—"I Wanna Be Sedated" is pathetic. Where was the Quality Control department on that one? I like the new album quite a bit, though.

I like it too, Greg. Neil Armstrong is a very good opener. Tallulah is maybe the worst thing on the album. Could be the ukelele again. When I saw them live recently I thought 20% of the set was terrible. I think she's very talented and having been a few feet from her she's also very pretty. If you haven't heard her vocal on Darren Hayman's I Know I F***ed Up you should check it out.
