How about one I don't play often enough....Before Hollywood. They sounded great as a three piece, and I generally don't like three pieces.

I don't know how well-known this 1984 Peel Session is, but it was just posted before the New Year:

Wasn't it a strange choice of songs for that particular moment? I'd've thought they'd be pushing SHF, with stuff like Bachelor Kisses, Draining the pool, Part company...

Sire must have been delighted - pack the buggers of to France to record the album, book them into a Peel session, and get a ten minute version of a b-side...it shows independence of spirit, of course, but a little bit of salesmanship mightn't have hurt them!

I'm listening to Jack Frost's Snow Job right now. I've not heard it in years. It sounds great. I bought the CD today, having previously had it on cassette. You very rarely see it for sale so I got it despite the fact it was $28. I'm glad I did.

Listening to 1978-1990, the double CD Japanese version which includes all 28 tracks from the original vinyl release. I'd forgotten what a scratchy version of Karen this is, taken, as it is, from a needle drop.

The Friends of Rachel Worth. Is it really 13 years since it was released? I remember the excitement of it coming out some 12 years after 16LL.
It feels a bit of a forgotten gem to me now. In fact just listened to it as a whole for the first time in years - it sounds amazingly fresh. Surprising for an album (which I guess is not generally rated as high as many of their others) how many of the tracks became regular live tracks for the GBs and latterly Robert.
But, Heart and Home - now there's one I'd completely forgotten - simply fantastic on a Sunday afternoon while working!

It's hard to believe that it was 13 years ago. I remember the excitement of a new Go-Betweens album (the first since I'd been a big fan)and rushing into town on the day of release to buy it. I still love it - in fact, I'm going to play it now :-)
