Can't believe it's seven years since Grant passed away. I plan to spend the day listening to loads of Go-Betweens songs and raising a glass to Grant later.

Ken Sweeney of Dublin newspaper the Evening Herald aked me to post this.

legendary Irishh music journalist George Byrne was a long time pal of
Grant McLennan and The Go-Betweens. Supplying the sleevenotes to the
re-issue of
'Tallulah' .
No fan of social media - I contacted him today for a few words on
Grant's anniversary...

"Hard to believe that it's seven years today since the passing of the
great Grant McLennan. The Go-Betweens were one of the greatest bands
I've ever heard, the songs Grant and Robert Forster wrote sounding as
fresh today as they did in the day. A funny, charming man and a great
pub companion, I'd love to find the pictures of himself, myself and Eamönn
Carr wearing original Horslips stage costumes. (Horslips a renowned
Irish band famous for their glam stagewear in the early 70's )
Tonight it'll be a couple of bottles of Aussie red and several plays
of Bachelor Kisses, Cattle and Cane, Bye Bye Pride, Haven't I Been a
Fool and pretty much
everything else. Rest in peace Grant. Still miss you mate." George Byrne
