According to the newssite, Robert will be playing in Berlin, in early August. Nice. It would be lovely, if he also would play in Hamburg.... (dreams are free). Does anyone know, whos booking the show(s)for Robert? Any contactaddress (email)? I know some people, who would be keen to organise a show. my contactaddress: thokei65@yahoo.de cheers thomas |

A couple of pictures I took at the Hamburg gig should be viewable for all here : https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= a.650019948342644.1073741839.10000003934 1681&type=1&l=7f0dafc84d Hamburg was a complete solo affair, while I understand that in Berlin he was accompanied by German band "Die Türen" |

ah! I thought Hamburg would be a band show too! It was interesting to hear these songs without Adele & Glenn. Especially the earlier songs seemed to fit "Die Türen". They rocked! Robert told the audience that he arrived in Berlin on Monday and rehearsed for the whole week. I thought for just 2 shows, but as it turned out for just this one. The stage was set on the roof terrace of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. After some rain and 2 rainbows during the support they played a great set, just Bass, Drums, 2 Guitars and occasionally some keyboards. |

no comments about a new album in Hamburg, sorry. He changed the shirts before the very last song (spring rain). In Berlin, he played the last song in a T-Shirt. |

Here is a review (I think) of Robert's Berlin show, followed by a Google English translation: Die Tageszeitung [Berlin] 06 Aug 2013: 24. AUSGEHEN UND RUMSTEHEN VON ANDREAS HARTMANN ---------- Translation (by Google) HOW TO GET THERE WOULD BE FULL BY THE SUMMER? ROBERT FORSTER LEE FIELDS AND THE HALF-NAKED Berliners GIVE LESSONS IN GOOD STYLE Once it gets hot and humid in Berlin, people can take every fashionable taste sensation. Men should wear shorts only in exceptional cases, and then only those that reach at least just above her knees. The style experts advise at least. In Berlin, men contribute a few degrees above the average mercilessly like shorts with checked patterns, reveal the splendor of their storks, X or O-legs. This omission of as much material on the body a bit too sloppy. Elsewhere you recognize tourists because they are the ones you might look a little too much, that they are on vacation. In Berlin, the tourists, however, are the only ones that do not look as if they were on Malle. Except maybe on the beer mile, which once again Karl-Marx-Allee lined this weekend in Friedrichshain. Here staggered Berliners and tourists alike were unrestrained. 2,000 different beers were tried, with the result that already waited morning at 10 clock two specialized strokes patrol car of the Red Cross on the neighbor who has drunk too much mango or honey beer in weather where it is, one should really take no alcohol. How to preserve his dignity even in high summer, the demonstrated Robert Forster at his concert at the House of World Cultures and Lee Fields Lido. Well, Forster was allowed to play outdoors, but he still could have tempted, at least his shirt sleeves up. But that would give the overall look a little tarnished, and for the former lead singer of the eighties once nearly famous band The Go-Betweens too much anglophile dandy. The man has always had style and has probably never worn shorts, even though he is Australian. Robert Forster also saw that night still looks like out of a movie by James Ivory, with his nobility, his unhurried gestures and the perfect haircut. In the end he had forgotten how again was the bassist of his obvious short notice for the appearance in Berlin zusammengecasteten backing. But this problem could charm and without that it formed a sweat stain under his shirt, to be solved. Lee Fields Lido had been heavier than Forster, whose appearance always accompanied by a gentle breeze. The soul singer eventually follow in the footsteps of James Brown, once the "hardest working man in show business". But even if Lee Fields the top of his lungs screamed into the windowless concert hall or his fevered soul ballads croonte and the sweat poured, it took a while, until he finally got rid of his jacket. Lee Fields for over 40 years in business, but until recently it was only a rumor among soul aficionados. Only in the last few years he has success enough to not look with a jacket, as if he had dressed up. Meanwhile, it can also make Italian suits actually. But with his black shirt with the black pants he saw no jacket still so statesman-like recently Barack Obama during his visit to Berlin. Obama was incidentally also as a tourist capital, of which the Berlin could abschauen in questions of style for the summer something. |

It seems a surprise that no Melbourne followers posted any details of Forster's show at the National Gallery back in July... From a couple of e-mail exchanges I heard that he was accompanied by two members of the John Steel Singers on guitar and bass, occasionally his wife on violin and for a few songs Mick Harvey on drums. His son (Louis/Lewis ?) joined for one song on guitar. Maybe a couple of new songs were played, 'I'm Going To Tell It' and 'Disaster in Motion' ? |
