In the end, no great revelations for us trusty followers. I was interested though to find out that Forster knows Doris Lessing's feminist landmark novel 'The Golden Notebook' well from his university days. If I remember correctly it is in the book's preface that Lessing says that if you start reading a book and are not into it, put it aside. It is not the right moment and you can try it again in 5 or 10 years time. And that his 15 year old son plays guitar in a Brisbane band... |
