So there's a new box set out on 2nd June according to amazon. Looks like an Aussie release? Am assuming its a standard reissue. Anyone know anything? |

After the 2CD reissues, is there anything left for a box set? (ahh, just realised that that was GB's Phase 1 - there is probably a need for Phase 2) |

There are lots of radio sessions from both phases that could and should get a proper release some day Paul. Also, the demos from the second phase. Maybe some unreleased tracks from the last few years. A collection of second phase b-sides. A badly needed remaster of Oceans Apart. The acoustic stories DVD should get a CD release. There are still a few shots in the locker. |

Yes Pádraig -As I write this I'm going through my iTunes collection realising that I spoke to soon. Although there might not no be much for the casual listener, there is still heaps for the hard core fan. Radio sessions, and perhaps there are demos still spread out around the world (phase 1 and 2), as well as the collected B-sides. And that goes for the solo recordings as well, I'm still to hear 'The Land That Time Forgot.' |

I have long wanted reissues of the Phase 2 era. I figure both "Rachel Worth" and "Oceans Apart" would profit from remastering, "OA" desperately of course. I have only some of the EP tracks from that era. And, yes, there must be demos, perhaps even a few from after "Oceans Apart." That would be exciting! |

The botany tapes could do with a bit of tarting up and a general release |

I'd love to see that Martyn. I'm very curious to see if the original tapes are a whole lot better than the bootlegs. Oh, and the 5 Album Set has been delayed in Australia till next Friday. JB Hi-fi will be selling it for $20 (about Ł11). |

Pádraig, my Google skills have gone out the window, and JBhifi's site is not behaving - can anyone paste the link to the JB entry? $20 for 5 albums! Are these the 2 cd sets? If so, thats too cheep. |

Paul, it's not on their website yet. I went into one of the shops yesterday and asked about it because it wasn't on the shelves. It's just the bare bones albums. No second discs or bonus tracks. Still a steal for any kid discovering The Go-Betweens for the first time, or for people like me buying the same thing over and over because I just have to have it... |

Thanks Pádraig. I think five copies of Liberty Belle are enough for me. Still holding on to my JB Christmas voucher for the Twin Peaks box set. |

I picked up this 5 album box set today. I am wondering if anyone knows which masters were used for this set? I am assuming since it's on EMI that the same masters used for the 2CD re-issues were used here, but asking just to be sure. Regarding the reissues, I did not enjoy the sound quality of Before Hollywood and Spring Hill Fair (mastered by John Dent) but did like the sound of Liberty Belle and Tallulah (mastered by John Inglot). |
