How often do you get to hear a Grant McLennan song you've never heard before? Not often, but it just happened. I was in Red Eye this evening and saw the Lighting Fires CD single. Track one is Lighting Fires, of course, and track three is Things Will Change from the same album. But in between is Grant's take on Dusty Springfield's I Only Want To Be With You. Wow. I didn't even know this existed.

I'm a big fan of GW's but I got to say his version of 'I only want to be with you' on this CD single is a turkey imho.

Another obscurity for sale on e-bay right now - don't see it very often. It's got an unlisted track (hold your horses). Item 391215935709

fsh - thanks for that, just bought two, having managed not to buy any for the Bush Hall. Lucky, really, as Sunday in Oxford is much better than Monday in London - quicker and easier to get to, not a work day etc...

Chances are we'll be driving up from Bath, but if anybody's going to meet for a drink/meal first we'd be interested.

I guess someone knows a half decent pub in Oxford where RF could set up a tab for us.

fsh, just noticed that we're both (on this page) at 290 posts, though I'm now at 291 and you're on 296. A while before we equal Pádraig...
